Sorry I don't have a B2 BB...so....I'm with George. Don't open it but keep it. Find your birth year and use that. If you open it it will never be the same NOS. It's a collectors item right now open it and it will disintegrate. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
It's a gift from his wife. Who cares about anything else. You can always find another NOS razor but a spouse who would buy it for you..... Priceless!
Nothing yet, but I'll probably open it. My wife is away leading our church Jr. High camp this week, and I want her to be there for the opening and first shave. I'm also planning to video the opening ceremony, and may video the maiden voyage as well.
Which begs the question that since you are combining the time-honored tradition of the Unboxing Video with a shave video, do you also plan to use the NOS blades?
I hadn't thought much about the blades, but probably not. I'd hate to ruin the inaugural shave with an unknown variable.
I'd say keep it like it is, or sell it. The fact that it is NOS hugely adds to the attraction. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Opened her up yesterday for my Father's Day shave today. My wife did take a video of the unboxing, but it was not the unicorn, so I'll spare everyone. It is a D1, 1983, and a nice mild shaver, even on 9.
You said you're not a collector, so open it & use it. Year of manufacture (IMHO) is only valuable if limited numbers of an item were made that year, or it was made for that year only. I don't see plastic-base SAs being that valuable to begin with. Use it; if you like how it shaves, find your year-birth SA, then sell the first one.
