I assume shave sticks are so you do not need a bowl, mainly for travel as you will need to use a brush or hands to get the rest lathered up. For a shave bowl or mug I would look at some of the smaller bowls or wider in a place like Goodwill but the small bowls made for older small cans of soup/Chef Boyardee type foods for a cheap one or look for a larger tea cup like mug because the coffee mug unless you have a travel brush are going to be too short/barely long enough with the mug too skinny in a traditional modern coffee mug. If it were me, I would use a bowl I have marked for shaving on it because we have these small bowls that are all too small for modern soups/food really only for Ice cream even back when they were made in the mid 1970's to 1980's. However, I do not use shaving cream or even the can stuff when shaving just if needed and I skipped a few days some light hand/body soap in the liquid form with water if need be and is not foaming like hand soap with just enough to cover skin then let sit into the skin before shaving using barely enough as need a good bit of feel when shaving or I go too hard with no feel.
