Nov 2017 30 Day Rule/Focus

I am curious how the legendary blade performances for you, how many shares do you think you will get?

 

Well Charlie, 2 days in, and already 2 different shaves!(Remember, we kidded about me saying a different shave every day this month? 2 down, 28 to go-maybe I wasn't kidding!) Course the flip side of this plan is to refer to the movie THE STING, with Robert Redford's closing line about saying why he didn't want his share of all the money the "good guys" got...."Nah, I'd probably blow it".

 

I think I will get at least 25 shaves or more. Performance is excellent. IMO.

 

Great Setup Doug. With a little luck you'll get through the month on the blade. What do you think of the Nuavia Blu scent?

 

Thank you Clint. I am very fond of the Nuavia Blu soap. I like the scent, from what I can smell. This is how they advertise their scent pyramid.

 

I like the scent of the Blu as well. It is very different from the Rossa to my nose.

I'm in one week at a time using my fall scents I'll start with Saturdays shave using Barrister and Mann Lime Lavender and Cedar soap and AS with the Razorock Bruce alum the Qshave adjustable and Shark stainless blades.

This whole discussion is to help folks with questions. You are a New Shaver with Vintage Gear. I'm a Vintage Shaver with New Gear. My only advantage is that I've tried a few more things than you. The 30 Day Crew is here because we are all trying to improve our results. While we may have collectively forgotten more than you know when you ask a Newbie Question someone has encountered that situation and is pleased to be able to assist.

I think Chris @Bama Samurai described the scent as "Eau de Burnt Newspaper" Plenty of suppliers offer scented versions. but a couple drops of your AS of the day makes one bottle versatile!

A lofty but admirable goal. With good technique a single pass can be effective. May the Alum be in your favor!

Guess I enjoy my three plus chin buffing & Slides. All that extra motion has it's risks in nicks and irritation.

After one shave, Perma-Sharp Super DE blades land right between Voskhod and Polsilver SI smoothness. It's early, so I'll give it a few more shaves.

My Bride rated the C.O. Bigelow and Floid Vigoroso combined scents a 6 out of 10. Looks like I'm entering the danger zone!

 

Love it, Paul. It will be fun following your No focus November. The Sting was absolutely classic!

But I DO have a focus....y'know the essay I wrote on being a Johnny One-Note with soap shaves. As for the "different shave every day", I'll be working hard on it...kinda hurts when the weather here flip flops. Just you wait-if there's a real cold spell, I could indeed be a Redford clone.

 

Well, what I have going for me is the strength of the in-shower bodwash...really sets things up well. My next soap shave figures to be Sat...let's see how it goes.You did 3 passes, eh?
