Thanks Mark. I am not really a big fan of boar brushes but it is nice to show this one some love.

Blade: Kai Captain Sharp (4nd Shave)
Brush: EverReady 100T with TGN 22mm Synthetic Knot

Aftershave: Jabonman Dama de Noche Balm (w/ Menthol)

Got my new soap and aftershave in from Spain, and picked it up this morning before my shave. The name of the soap changed from Jabonman to Eufros, but it’s the same awesome stuff. Lathers easier than Arko, and the jasmine smell of this is awesome. Did a two pass shave with the razor, and just focused on the feel and sound of the razor cutting as I wiped away the lather. I have been using too steep of an angle, because today had it a little higher, and it worked better. A crop of weepers under the chin reminded me not to use pressure, but overall the best shave I have gotten with the pain stick. Two or three whiskers short of a BBS on a two pass shave. Alum was bad under the chin, but fairly quiet on the rest of my face. The Jabonman aftershave balm was awesome, with just enough menthol to be awesome. Overall A- on closeness, and B- on irritation. Getting better.

Unrelated note, getting my loaner straight and strop back. May have two sets to loan out if anyone wants to try them.

A soap that lathers easier then Arko? Does it lather itself while complimenting your shave technique?

    Aristocrat Focus November 14:

    Homemade PS Oil
    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Gatlinburg SS
    Gillette Aristocrat
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Stirling Gatlinburg AS

With the cooler weather finally hitting, I went for a warm shave this morning. The Gatlinburg was up to the task, and the Aristocrat really took care of the stubble. I nice two pass DFS. The Cartel should be pleased, as I have used only Voskhod, Polsiver, and now Rapira blades so far this month. The Aristocrat has liked them all.

    NOVember - NO Variation

    November 14

The only variation for me this month has been my sleep pattern. It's kind of nice to have a variable morning. I get to decide whether the alarm is right or not and this morning it was an hour too early. So, reset it an slept an hour away then got up and straight to work after coffee. No time for a shave but that's ok. Just means a double growth tomorrow to spend some quality time on. Hope your Saturday was a good one!

Soap – Gada Cool Mint shave cream
Post - Cold water splash, Witch Hazel and Ice Blue Aqua Velva

Another good but not great shave with this combo. I have decided this combo just can't give me a BBS shave. I went three passes again and ended up with a nice irritation free shave even on my chin. Nice and smooth but after a couple hours definite stubble showing. As a result it is another DFS shave but still no BBS with this combo.

On to a new soap, this time it is the famous/infamous Arko. Fortunately / unfortunately this puck is old enough that the scent is gone. Fortunately the performance is still there. Per it's reputation and my experienced it lathered very easily and quickly there was lather everywhere. That is why I used a small brush, my Simpson Tulip 2. The first three passes where slick and smooth. Did all of the 4th pass except for the 'fools pass'. The alum block revealed some tingling. The result was near BBS, I missed some spots at the bottom of my neck and the point of my chin.

    Irritation A-, closeness A-

    Argo puck
    Simpson Tulip 2 Super Badger
Jerry Stark 5/8 in red and black micarta
    Dry Gulch Horse Hide strop
    Lucky Tiger AS
    L'Occitane ASB
    Creed Millesime Imperial

Great to see you progress Adam, if you can master the pain stick you can shave with anything. Maybe next month I will take out the CJB and shed some blood to improve my technique. No pain No gain.

That's a great idea. IF you get the stick containers from Michelle, let me know what you think. BTW, the Sardinean Honey is awesome.
