I am a 3 pass shaver (with, across, against) as I like to be completely smooth for work, Paul. Sometimes I do a 2 pass'er for weekends or if I am in a ridiculous rush.
I load enough to make sure I have lather sufficient for 3 passes.

 

What a bowl! It actually had me taking my eyes off your razor and brush for once, Mark!

Do we discourage equipment jumping? I don't think so. I think the overall narrative here is to master what you have, through a rule or focus or whatever, and then start applying those techiques to the next 140 pieces of hardware you buy...

Or if another twit mentions the selected Fine soaps and splashes at huge savings at ItalianBarber. I might not resist that. Feathers and Astras 1/2 price? No one better tell me about that...
