I've used Godrej in a hard soap puck, but this fresh lime scented smells much better. Not a sweet candied, much more essential oil, fresh peeled fruit flavored. Easy to lather too, being a cream. An almond sized application in the moistened bowl and agitated with the dense badger knot in Steve's @Vlasta early run of R-400 type handles gave plenty of lather. I moved the Feather blade from the #195, guessing it's already had at least two uses. Plenty of sharp left for this shave getting in three full passes & just a little touch up. I'd like to develop the ability to do a two pass shave even if it means changing blades more often. Supposed to be teaching Technique here so I've set that as a goal. I did finish with a very close & comfortable error free reduction. Alum was not fussing, didn't knock the scab off my neck wound from a couple days ago. The cologne went well with the Godrej. Neither are sweet scents, and the musk carries when the lime fades.

My, my what a day. Was it Monday?? No? Tuesday?? Really??? Felt like Monday, several times over. Definitely time to shave and relax. I moved from the flare tip Super Speed over to the 1947 that I had replated after purchasing it. Definitely a beautiful razor and just a bit different from the later Flare Tip models. The '47 is a bit more aggressive but still a Super Speed. I paired it with an Asco Super Stainless blade. These are made by Lord in Egypt. Lord, of course, was a British company back in the day and actually remain so. They just relocated to Egypt when the Empire expanded. Some Lord blades are quite good, some not so much. Asco is one of the surprising blades because it works well in spite of being a mid-tier blade, in my opinion. It sings like a carbon but has a very smooth feel, though not as smooth as some.

I chose Tabac to get at least one Tabac Tuesday in this month along with the JR46. Fantastic lather and a fantastic three pass shave to wind down the day. I'm now very relaxed, the baby is in the house and all is right with the world again. Have a great day out there tomorrow!

It was rough when I got it. Lots of plate loss and even metal loss in some areas due to brassing. Chris at razorplate.com really pulled off a great restoration with it. I think he had to plate it three different times due to issues with it. But he hung in there and restored a beauty.

Figured it was time to shave the noggin after 4 days. If this blade and razor couldnt get the job done , I swore I'd just grow my hair back. The soap is Burma Shave btw . The red paint on the '59 is contrary and wont grab the brass. I may blast the head and tail and leave the middle black. Rest will be au naturale.

Figured I would honor No Repeat November with a razor I have never used. My wife confiscated it thinking I bought it for her. I just took credit for the gesture even though I bought it for my collection. She often tells me how much she loves it. No need to correct the misunderstanding at this point.

It shaved really well with the feather blade.

This week I am going to do a mini-focus on Jwest razors. Today's blade is a Suzuki Niles, she is just under 6/8 with a half hollow grind and a wicked edge. Not sure what 'chemical steel' is but it also say it is 'high class' on the tang. High class or not it was a nice shave.

Monday is normally a long day, and yesterday was no exception, but that's behind me now and anothe day is starting.
Another blade, another shave!
This time using a 7'Oclock Yellow for the run, one blade, one shave. At first the blade was not so much tug n pull but rough. The first pass was not horrible, not even bad, just not as comfortable as a Feather first run. The 2cd pass went better and I felt things were going good. Got to the cleanup pass and by then most everthing was cleared.
Now for the head shave, it was smooth sailing all the way. 1st and 2cd pass went without incident, the clean up pass was almost not needed. Other than the start everthing went well. I don't know if I need to do the head shave first with this blade, thats always a possible cure for this type of hardware.
All in all a ok shave, no blood, no burn, but that's what I expect from this razor.

Wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Light tickle from the alum on my neck.

Bonehead move this morning. While cleaning up after my shave I sliced my thumb. More of a fillet. Hopefully it will stop bleeding on its own.

Have you ever had those days that you just don't want to go to work? Today is one of those days for me. Oh well, at least I was able to get in a decent shave before leaving. The big flat top ate through the soap and whipped up a very good lather. It must be me but it seems I can never get the Schapenmelk as slick as I would like. Three passes and touch ups just let the baby escape. I somehow missed a small spot on the edge of lower right neck. A splash of Dominica Bay Rum and I think I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

First Head and dome shave with my new Colonial Silversmith razor. In words of one syllable, WOW!! I had the opportunity to shave with this razor back in early September as part of a loan swap with a friend on another board (Karve for Silversmith). We each shaved with the other’s razor for two weeks and then returned them. I’d forgotten how smooth and efficient the razor is! It looks like it may become my favorite DE. Effortless BBS!

Made a wetter lather than normal and achieved a nice, close, comfortable shave. It was very close to a BBS without irritation. Hit the same nick from the previous shave, but no big deal. The aftershave did not sting and the Nivea really gave a nice soothing touch to end this shave. 27 more shaves to complete the 30 consecutive same setup. Have a wonderful day, guys!
