Thanks Jeff! I make sure that I am on my A+ shave game every time we meet. It would be a hoot to see you in person. I guess when you come out to see your sister out on eastern Long Island would be the most opportune time for you. Have a great afternoon.

Excellent shave, Cliff. That OSU-IU game was a squeaker.

That sounds like excellent advice! I'm sure that I'll revisit the straights at some point - particularly my John Watts Sheffield. It's a lovely razor!

I managed to get hold of a Boots shave stick this afternoon... It was in stock at a town centre branch. Naturally that meant that I needed to test it right away! I rubbed it over a wetted beard a few times and whipped up a truly magnificent lather. I then set about shaving. I grabbed the skin above my sideburn and made the first stroke - lovely. I then moved down my cheek with my left (non-shaving) hand, and attempted to stretch the skin again... My fingers slipped right off! Damn this stuff is slick! A clean smelling, slick and cushiony soap for the low price of £1.75 in a brick and mortar store!

I have 3 sticks of Arko arriving in the post this coming week. It will be interesting to see how they compare!

The MMOC has enough about it to get the job done in 2 passes... Great choice for a 'lazy' shave!

So the AS-D2 isn't too mild for Primo?!
Mild is all anyone seems to say about this particular razor!

Fine shave James! Some shavers use alum on their fingers to be able to get a better feel when stretching the skin.

I've used alum previously... Great for gripping. but I disliked the feeling when rubbed on a freshly shaven face... It seemed to overtighten my skin and irritate a little!

It’s not for Everyone. I use Alum after every shave. I’m Old so it’s a Cheap Facelift for Me. Lol.

At 65, I am lucky that I don't have to resort to a poor man's facelift. Lol!
