November 22nd

SS & AS: Stirling Pumpkin Spice

No shave yesterday as I spent the morning in the shop and didn't shower until the evening. I like having 2 days of growth with the straight razor anyway.

I freshened the edge on some lapping paper and went to work. Very smooth and comfortable. I stretched extra tight and got very close. Yet the alum was kind. Truly a relaxing and enjoyable shave to start Sunday in a good mood.

I asked my wife what she's thankful for, she said, "You" I'm glad she's thankful for me. She went on to talk about my job and how blessed we are to feel secure and well provided for during these uncertain times. So many don't have that. #givethanks





Also, I was very touched by the responses before. I do plan to respond to all the kind words.

I remember your excitement when you bought that soap/splash - too bad it's a bit of a let down. Honestly, when it came out, I saw it a lot on the other groups/forums that I lurk, but don't see it often now.
It looks great and makes a nice addition to the SOTD photo.
Overall, you made it work today and that's a great shave, Joe!

Excellent shave Andrew. How do you like the soap base? I am looking at eventually getting a sheep fat soap. In the running are Stirling’s Sheep, MWF and the Haslinger. Curious regarding your thoughts.

 

Ah the way to Jeff’s heart is through his stomach.

 

I am not opposed to a higher dose of lipids. It has been proven higher amount of saturated fats are much better for you the the linoleic acid driven plant based fats. Bring on the bacon and whatever else you desire. I will be game.
