Middle of my Stoylin trifecta this morning(Ramblin Man). . 0:30 to load the Crown King brush(Spindle Duro Tali). I worked on my focus of adding more soap. I think it's helping, as we shall see in a minute. That first batch that I put on my left facial side is always the more moist than the rest of it. Then it gets drier with each additional application. I did get a nick in the usual area(N.E. Porcupine), but the additional soap from the 2nd pass calmed it down some. Painless, but there it was. More solid work down at CactusNation " Ice-chipping" at the jawline. R.M. aftershave for the closer...Face and neck are clean, smooth, and fresh. Super Duper Excellent.

    ETHOS Dragonsbeard~~Culmak 92~~1908 Gillette Single Ring/Sharp Star
I was going to begin my decimation of my tub of Baume.be today,
but I so enjoyed the Dragonsbeard product, I am putting that off until December.
The Culmak 92 has enough lather in its knot for a dozen passes.

I tossed yesterday's Voskhod thinking it may have been a clunker.
You might recall, that the ATG neck pass was less than comfortable.
Decided on a Sharp Star, the smoothest of my Russian steel.
    Low and behold...still rough.
Through my amazing power of deduction, I realized that the Single Ring was the issue.
This razor is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It has serious blade exposure, but more than that,
the angle in which the blade is held must be less torqued than later Gillette iterations.
I have no direct evidence of this, but that has to be the explanation.
Anyway, rather than ride the comb, I shallowed the angle and got better results.
THIS, my friends is why this thread exists; to learn and teach.
I encourage all participants of this thread to include, even if only
    occasionally,
in your posts, shave revelations, help for newbies, anything that will assist another get a better shave.

This is going to be my setup for the month of December. Quite the opposite of the decadence of December here in the 30DC.

I'll be using my favourite razor and blade combination - keeping variables to a minimum as I dial in the Arko shave stick.

This is definitely my lowest cost setup with the Fatip costing around £15, 200 Silver Star blades are under £10 shipped, Arko is under £10 for 12 sticks and the Yaqi Tuxedo was PIF'd to me.

I look forward to getting this set up dialed in and then seeing what January brings!

I have some small amount of tea-staining on the top cap of my Grande... Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

awesome single ring shave and pic Joseph.i understand single rins and other old types were deemed adjustable as loosening or tightening the handle a little adjusted blade angle..
