Thank you Danny....it's nice when they just disappear due to power from the soap and/or aftershave.

    Shavette Shave # 111

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: RenRen Shavette
    Blade: Perma-Sharp
    Brush: Jack Skully
    Lather: WTF Vintage Barbershop
    Aftershave: WTF Vintage Barbershop
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera

Good afternoon gentlemen. Midday post, mid morning shave. Up early this morning to pick up some freshly cut firewood around the block. I managed three loads, Jeep Grand Cherokee sized, by 9:00 AM before having to shower and shave . Following g a trip to the airport to pick up my niece, I was back at it doing yard work whic h included splitting some older stock of firewood. I am physically pooped.

Regarding this morning’s shave, I have not used the WTF soap/ splash in a while. I should more often as it is a very slick soap with a wonderful barbershop fragrance.
The shavette delivered a nice close shave, followed by a silent alum, witch Hazel and aftershave. I did smell and look good going to the airport.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

After I lather my face for the first pass, I set the brush down on the puck and shave. Now, there is still lather on the puck so I face lather to prepare for my second pass. If I think it is necessary for me to add some water, then I lightly dip my tips in a mug that is filled with water and go back to facelathering. The amount of time to add water on the second lathering is irrelevant. You have to judge if you need to add water. However, as a matter of routine, I usually add water to my subsequent lathers. If the lather is too thin, then I can always add more soap. If your soap is drying in the middle of the pass, then, just add a small amount of water to fix it. Your pattern seems to be to just go through with the shave and not correct the soap/water ratio. It's perfectly ok to stop mid shave and fix the lather if it is thin or drying out, otherwise, you won't get the protection and the blade will not glide properly. The benefit of all this is that you will get less frequent cuts, nicks, weepers, etc. It also assumes that you have the right shave angle and pressure as well. Doing all of these things will get you consistent, great shaves 99% of the time.

I'll be using the Christmas Eve a lot over the next few weeks.

The brush is what came out of yesterday's efforts. That's the basic design I'm considering for an LE just not for a 30mm knot.

    The shave was awesome!

    Shave Soap & Aftershave

I enjoyed a relaxing morning with the ladies. Then Asha helped me with some of my work I had brought home. All in all a very productive morning and early afternoon. I decided to reward myself with a nice shower and shave. @b1hart Blair inspired me to break out the disco brush. Seeing all the Tabac and Arko posted over the last few days remotely made my den smell like an old lady's purse with a urinal cake ;) So I decided to clear the air with the delightful sophisticated aroma of the Sicilian countryside by using SV Manna di Sicilia. Three passes and touch ups ended with a wonderful BBS shave. A splash of Sicilia aftershave confirmed my exorcism of Tabac and Arko with the ladies commenting on how great I smelled. :D I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Thanks for this Joe. With my small bathroom, I think the best way for me to add the water would be to quickly put it under the sink tap. The mug might take up too much space. I've done this before when just doing it directly from tap to soap(that is, no brush involved). I'll "experiment with this this week.

You can use a small glass or a clean small coffee cup from a 7-11. I don't like running tips under a tap because you run the risk of too much water. I also don't like using my fingertips to sprinkle water on the tips. I recommend the water filled mug/small cup/can method because you get an even layer of water all over the tips.
