Clint, your set up is first rate! Is Maya continuing to recover? I think you should take her shopping tomorrow and give her your credit card. That would be excellent therapy! Have a great weekend.
Your Sheraton looks fantastic. I agree they are certainly among the coolest razors Gillette made. More importantly. It's Friday and there he is. I can't get over how happy he seems.
Thank you, Perry! Thanks Clint! He is a very happy baby most of the time and hardly ever fusses. My wife and I often muse that our next one will be polar opposite and will be hell on wheels.
Thank you for the kind words Charlie. My is doing much better and continues to improve by the day. She's going for a follow up with the surgeon this morning. As the youngest and a daughter, she has long ago figured out how to wrap me around her finger. She's already taken Mom's iPad and shopping like crazy
I didn't think you'd like it, Jim. Better get rid of it before you hurt yourself. Now that I'm retired, I can afford take on additional risk. I'll be glad to take the Aristocrat, get it out of circulation, and prevent someone from serious injury. It's my way of giving back to the wet shaving community.
There might be some truth to it. Our oldest daughter cried for the first 6 weeks. It took years for my wife and I to consider a second. Luckily Maya was a cuddle bunny and never cried.
Very nice looking Sheraton, Andrew. It is interesting that you tighten down the barn doors and then back off a quarter turn. It makes my day to see the Little 30DC man this morning!
Maya's progress is fantastic news and an answered prayer, Clint! I'm glad she's also responding well to intensive retail therapy!
Super jealous of the Shulton, Rick. Great pic. Sounds like you are ready for the weekend, Clint. Glad the shave started the day off well. Great pic, Brian. Route 66 is one of the few soaps that gets lots of love on here that isn't available from a Canadian retailer. The unavailability has probably saved me a few quid! Thanks, Jim. My first B&W pic ever, I believe. Thanks, Andrew. I believe they are the same, but I do have a pic of the two of them on 'The Haul' thread from last weekend. The handles are significantly different weights for sure. The Canadian is way heavier. Too much bacon... I enjoy it very much as well, Clint. I think the Reserve base is an even better lather, though. I'll join the chorus and say great Sheraton! Your son is always smiling because he knows his Dad owns a razor shop and he knows he will inherit about 200 first class shavers.
Thank you, Clint! This one does have donkey milk in it. I have one other Wholly Kaw soaps, Jamestown Gentleman, and it does not have the donkey milk. To me the donkey milk soap is slicker; though this may all in my head. The post shave feel is outstanding, definitely among the best soaps in this arena.
Thank you Charlie. Just got the update from Maya. The Surgeon has cleared her to return to school on Monday. She will be on crutches for at least another 6-8 weeks but at least she is going back to school before she get's too far behind.
October 27, 2017- Various AnTECHs Razor: NDC Post-War Tech Blade: Astra SP(2) Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH This was the trial run of a somewhat tatty Tech that I picked up recently. It was being thrown in with a pack of vintage Personna blades and he whole thing ran me $2.19 shipped. It cleaned up pretty well except for some persistent black spots on the ball handle. Time to take it for a spin... And... it shaves like a Tech. -) A very nice DFS with no issues. At some point, I need to finish cleaning it up and then figure out what to do with it. It's not like I really *need* another one.
