Wednesday Shave: First shave with this razor was slightly rough so I did a few laps on the CrOx and it was nice and smooth. Still on our 'Thanksgiving' vacation so I was able to have a nice slow shave. Wonderful photo Adam The New LC looks to be in great shape. Good to see you posting Charlie. I hope you are doing well. Excellent idea for a focus. Do you have a preference between the OT and New? Wow. Another very cool looking razor. Congrats. Great photo and lineup Amigo.
OCtober 4, 2017 Wolfman WR1 OC Feather Shavemac LE with DO1 2 Band Flat Top Reef Point Test Depth Witch Hazel with Menthol Cool Water EDT This week seems to be going by very quickly which is a good thing, I think. Another great shave this morning. The big Shavemac Flat Top is lather making machine but it does eat through the soap. I am pretty sure this soap will not survive this month. Three passes and minimal touch ups while paying particular attention to my trouble spots and skin stretching left me with a near perfect shave. I decided against chasing perfection on my lower right neck. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
Gillette LC New BRW Improved handle Feather (1) Semogue BC Mistura Stirling Gentleman Alum Superior 70 A very nice shave this morning. The LC New pairs well with a feather and a little focus.
OCtober 4 SOTD: Razorock Plissoft Brush La Toja Shave Stick Gillette Tuckaway Stirling Unscented PSB Irisch Moos AS First shave with this razor, and combined with a little rushing/lack of focus, it bit once or twice. Two little weepers and a little irritation to go with it. I definitely have had worse shaves but not in a while. I was at the gym, so I was a bit hurried. I am heading to LSU to conduct interviews tomorrow, so I should have some more time for my morning shave. I hope everyone has a great day!
3 OCtober WILLIAMS WEDNESDAY!!! Pre-Shave: Hot Shower Brush: 24mm Silvertip Frank Shaving (FS) Soap: Williams Razor: Valet VC2, Autostrop Blade: Feather FAS-10 Carbon Steel(CS), Feather Seikan (3) Post-Shave: Cold Water rinse, OSMA Alum block and Stetson After Shave Photo: It's Williams Wednesday! Today's shave was better than yesterday's. It was smooth and effortless. The only thing missing now is the closeness. I did a three pass shave this morning. I noticed that the shave was smoother and easier than the previous two. I had almost no feedback from the alum block. Finished off with some Stetson AS. Two and half hours later I am smooth but not dolphin skin smooth. Final opinion on the shave would be DFS and would be happy with the shave on any given day. On a side note. I was setting up today's shave last night when I started thinking about what blades would fit this razor. An injector blade would fit and once you had it all closed up the blade stays in place without any visible movement. Also a de-spined SE blade would fit with some modifications made to the razor (file down the studs in blade housing). The other thing I noticed was the blade was starting to rust where I had to remove some of the metal to get the blade to set properly. The rust is not near the edge of the blade so it doesn't affect the performance of the blade. It will have to be watched though as it will affect the life of the blade.
SOTD October 4, 2017 Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Razor: Schick L1 injector Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Soap Commander Passion Post: Witch hazel, Gillette Cool Wave aftershave WTG, touch up Even though Stirling SEptember was a great month of shaves I missed some of my other soaps. Soap Commander was one of those. Terrific lather and post shave properties led to a nice and easy shave. The Gillette Cool Wave is a sub $5 splash from Walmart that's decent. Not much skin care involved in it - just felt like alcohol and scent. But a nice shave overall. Have a great day!
Thanks Keith,..it's been a rough couple of months, but grief therapy and the kind words from you guys has helped a lot.
Great looking New. Love the Tuckaway and photo Jim. Great photo. Have you tried the Feather FHS stainless blades? Great photo and lineup Perry.
Decided to keep the rotation rolling with some quintessential man scents. I used Tabac paired with Stetson for a very musky match. As expected it was a great shave. Sent from my XT1710-02 using Tapatalk
Great setup! DR Harris is on my to try list for sure! Such a fantastic looking razor, Neil! Very nice Keith! That razor looks rough and refined at the same time! Great photo, Doug! Amazing photo, Clint! how many shaves on that tub of soap so far ? New SC! #Winning! Beautiful Tuckaway, Jim! Awesome layout on the photo, Ken! Great photo Perry! I was in a Walmart the other day seeing what they had for AS, if they would have had the Cool Wave I might have picked it up but all they had were the classics. Have you though about adding some of your own skin care ingredients? Maybe a drop or two of aloe or glycerine, maybe some castor oil or vitamin E oil ?
