Is't that is way we are all here? To learn from one another by sharing what works and what don't. Other words "Thanks guys. My pleasure."
OCtober 5/6th Travel SOTDs Gillette NEW LC w Astra (1,2) TOBS Sandalwood Cream Omega Boar Travel Brush Thayers Stirling Gentleman Balm Day 5 of the OC focus, days 1&2 with the NEW. This has been my travel set up for the past few days. A couple of nice hotel shaves, but I did open up quite a weeper yesterday. Not sure how. It survived the Witch Hazel, and I didn't bring a Splash, so I ended up walking around the room for a bit with a piece of toilet paper stuck to my face. Maybe I'll put the styptic in the bag for next time; but it rarely gets used any more. Have a great day all!
SOTN OCtober 5th Razor: FaTip Piccolo Blade: Tian Li Super Blue (2) Brush: Ever-Ready H40 Soap: The Blades Grim "Cinder" AS: Fine "Platinum" I guess I was being overly optimistic after the first shave on the TianLi blades because the second shave on this blade was not pleasant. It was still tuggy, even more so then the first. Focusing on angle and pressure allowed me to finish the shave without incident or irritation, even though the shave itself was uncomfortable. After 3 passes I was left with a DFS and there was no sting from the AS, I guess this might be a true case of TTT. I want to give the Piccolo another shot with a better blade to see what it can do, but I have an inclination that a two pass BBS would not be out of the question with this razor. Have a great weekend my friends! And TGIF!!
Gotta love the New, and with the Delta Echo treatment, Stunning! Fantastic photo, Clint! Great lineup, Dale! Perry, on the plus side you don't need a dedicated air freshener! Great setup Brian, with another awesome straight! Thank for the info, I may have to play arround the next time a Valet falls into my hands. I absolutely love the New's ! Second favorite behind the MonoBilts!
Sometimes delusions of grandeur can obscure our better judgement! Thank you, Charlie! Be on the lookout for my next shave!
Thank you, Keith! Thanks Jason! He is a bright spot in our lives for sure! Really put into perspective what the important things in life really are!
October 6 - Fat Friday and otherwise totally unFocussed Brickell Face Scrub PAL adjustable injector / Personna (4?) Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar brush Kent/MWF in wooden tub Alum and Lucky Tiger I decided to play it safe today because I plan to get my photo taken for my driver's license renewal. I don’t want to spend the next five years looking at a photo of me with scratches and blood spots on my face, so all my OC razors were out. I went with a now familiar injector loaded with a well-smoothed blade. I let both my boar brush and my MWF puck soak while I washed my face, then squeezed the brush nearly dry and went to work. Loading for twice as long as normal left the brush looking very heavily loaded with soap. I then bowl lathered with a palmful of water and got a good lather. I may actually be starting to learn the quirks of this new boar brush. Two passes with the injector got me from a hayfield to smooth skin without any nicks, weepers or irritation. Mr. Alum kept his mouth shut today and the Lucky Tiger gave me a nice orange finish to a pleasant shave. I am clean and smooth with a slim fighting chance of not having a horrible photo on my license for the next five years... Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Very late to the party...but, sweet score!! Both look awesome! Can't say that I've heard of Joris either.
