Thank you Jim. Thank you Andrew. No real difference in the closeness of the shave. If anything the shave with the OneBlade might be closer. However, there is a huge difference in technique. With the OneBlade you put pressure on the razor like a cart. Doing that with the Wolfman or Cobra would be a blood bath.
No I have not stropped this blade. My plan is to use this blade with out stropping it to see how long it will last. This will give me a base line to go by. Then the next blade I will strop before and after each shave. My guess and hope is that by stropping the blade I will be able to double the usefulness life of the blade. That is a good question. Thanks for asking.
Two things have turned me into a bowl latherer. 1. I like having lather that is the same consistency throughout the shave. And 2. having hot lather from a scuttle is amazingly luxurious!
The 'button' agitators seem to work quite well, and it cleans easily, which was a worry of mine. It feels nice in the hand and, if anything, I could have made it a little thinner and lighter.
Tuesday October 3 - fast stubble removal Supply Provision Single Edge injector on two-dot plate / Personna (? ) Semogue Owners Club cherry wood boar brush Arko Alum and Lucky Tiger I haven't checked in for a mere two days and I am 150+ messages behind on the thread. I will have to catch up tonight. For this morning I had a two day stubble to wipe away and grabbed a loaded injector to do it. one fast diagonal pass gave me a decent close shave. One painless weeper on my lower lip where I got a bit too close while cleaning around it. The cold water rinse stopped it before I did the alum rub. The alum was quite quiet and the Lucky Tiger gave a nice orange finish to the shave. My Semogue boar brush did a good job today face lathering the Arko. Mind you, that doesn't really mean much in terms of my boar technique, because just about any brush can lather Arko...
Third day of the month, and 9 pages in. I am caught up on reading now. @Paul Turner I'm thinking about you. I know how hard going through all of that is. I lost my mom in March, and still find memories and feelings at the most unexpected times.
I bowl lather in a shiny stainless steel bowl. It allows me to see the lather consistency better and try to dial it in the same way each time. It's not always successful, but I think it helps.
