I used to love going to the Phoenix Roadrunner minor leage hockey games. Those dudes would fight over anything. One time, me an my brother had seats over the entrance to the visiting team's locker room. We heckled a guy from the Peoria Rivermen so badly he threw his stick at us. I ducked, my brother didn't. I let him keep the stick. Good times.
I just read his story last night after your post. And all they years I thought he was a home grown hero..... I saw him live a couple times and many times on TV. What always amazed me was how he got around the stadium so quickly. One minute he was down in front of you banging his drum and shazam, he was across the stadium starting the wave.
I found very little, if any difference between 7 and 8. I am planning on moving it to 9 tomorrow in order to see if that changes anything. If there is no perceptible difference, I will end up moving it back down to 7 because I am less likely to make a mistake at the lower setting.

Wednesday, October 14, 2015 B-3 Mongoose with Triad Ti Helix Hex Feather Pro #2 Varlet Mega White Badger TSD 2X Iced Barber Shoppe Witch Hazel +++Menthol, Cucumber Melon Whipped Shea Butter Chilled Floid Blue Aftershave Two passes plus clean up left me with a super close BBS shave this morning. We are moving slow after a Birthday Party for one of the local expatriots at Southside Jill's. A popular retreat for vacationing Amercanos. That'd be us. Finished with a good spritz of Cold Floid Blue. Viva Mexico!
Another great photo. Sounds like you are having a great time. By the way, I like the razor case. How does it work with the Mongoose.
I'm thinking about shaving my first pass today with a straight and starting my tech blade hunt for my 2nd and 3rd passes for the next few days.
October 14th SOTD (7th shave of this focus) Two and a half days’ growth Preshave: Hot Shower Razor: Dubl Duck Satinwedge with Obnoxious Orange scales Strop: Drygulch Leatherworks Oiled Latigo Brush: Handturned Tulip Poplar Badger Soap: Barrister & Mann Bay Lavender, Lime, & Cedarwood with M-bomb Postshave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block, Thayer’s Witch Hazel Aftershave: O Man, O Man, It’s Mandom! Didn’t have time to work on the Spike Wedge, so took the duck to the Chromium Oxide strop for 10 laps, and then did 120 laps on the leather. Ended up with a great shave! Did my normal N/S and S/N passes, and did a half pass just on the neck. DFS plus shave. Didn’t get the pressure quite right to make the wedge suck into the skin and slice the whiskers perfectly, but got pretty close. Lather was good, and I love the smell of this aftershave.
October 14 20's Old Type Astra SP (4) Not a lot really to say about this shave; just the usual one-pass CCS that I'd expect with this combo. I think I'm zeroing in, though, on the best way (i.e., direction) to shave my chin. JR
OCtober - Trick or TREET October 14 Razor - Gillette 1959 Ball End Tech Blade - (1) Brush - Vie Long 12601 The Pony Soap - Tabac Post - Cold water, Alum, Nivea Original After three really nice shaves with the carbon Treet Silver it's time to move on. The good people at random.org determined that the next blade up is the Treet Falcon, another carbon blade and one I had never heard of until recently. And, they also determined I would use the '59 Ball End Tech. I decided I'd use Tabac with the Pony brush to lay down a nice slick lather to give the Falcon room to hopefully fly. As with most of the Treet blades the wrapper on the Falcon has instructions that say "Do not wipe blade. Leave blade in razor". For the Silver I didn't "wipe" it after each use but simply layed it on a towel to get the moisture off, then reinserted it into the razor and dunked it in 91% alcohol to help remove any water. I'm going to skip that step for the Falcon to see if simply letting it dry and leaving it in place will work. I am drying the razor but not disassembling it and putting it on my desk to avoid staying in the humid bath. We'll see what happens. As for the shave I was once again surprised, though my level of surprise is less than a couple of weeks ago. The blade really performed beautifully. Gave me the carbon audio feedback but was smooth and very effective. I could easily have stopped after two passes with no touch up and been happy. Went ahead and added the third pass with touch up on the neck and caught the baby. Absolutely smooth shave and the alum was only noisy on the neck. That was more of a whimper than anything else. Quite impressed with day one of the Falcon. For a blade I hadn't heard of it's blowing away a lot of others that are more popular with the masses. Now.....will it last?

OCtober Focus Day 14: Homemade PS Oil Stirling Synthetic Brush Williams Mug Shave Soap Gem Micromatic OC Stirling Unscented PSB Clubman Vanilla AS First shave this month with the Micromatic OC, and it is as aggressive as I remember from last month. I have a little irritation, but I didn't get a great lather with the Williams. I'll adjust the soap tomorrow and give this razor another shot.
You now wear the robe of the Jedi. You haven't needed technique help in like 50 days. I see you freely teaching all you know, so I just get out of the way and enjoy! Now, we can just antagonize each other for the amusement of the 30DC.
Of course, if the stormtroopers come knocking, we'll distract them with cookies and hide in the trash compactor, and then at the last minute, Igor will save us, just like Chewbacca. We live for this...
