When I bought the Myrsol it was $13.10. But consider that the price of two bottles and shipping would be the same price as one bottle and shipping from any of the US online vendors.

Ah man, I went backwards today,
    Razor MTO
    Soap TSD
    Blade Wilkinson
    Aftershave captains bay rum
Got a hot shower, I think my best later in the bowl yet and started the shave keeping in mind to use the doors of the razor as a guide.
I don't know if it was because this was the 3rd shave with this blade or if I was going to slow and concentrating too much on the angle. But when I was done with the second pass, I could feel the irritation. So I quit there.
Just when I thought I was on a roll.
No cuts, but when I get the aftershave, pure fire!
All in all, still a better shave than what I was getting with the carts but still felt like a step backwards.

It happens like that sometimes. I have found that when I try to over think things, I take a step backwards. A couple of hints that work for me. Turn the fan and water off so you can hear the razor better. Start out on your first stroke with the doors more flat against your face as you begin the stroke drop the handle towards your face until you hear the whiskers getting cut. This will get you very close to the optimum angle without over thinking things. Hang in there. We all went through the same things in the beginning.

Sorry you had some irritation, stop over thinking it and let what you've learned take over. :)

Had a few Wild Turkeys in the back yard this afternoon. Looked out front and there where another 14 I counted. Usually happens this time of year.

Like Bill, the swedes surprised me too.

Apparently, it's Myrsol time. La Toja too, Kerry says it's almost free, he's right.

MdC is a good value at 1/3 gram per day. And FB on nine...now with less bleeding and irritation. I am on 8, will try nine soon.

@Joef - hang in there my brother! Make killer lather then just shave. Don't try to integrate everything all at once, just shave. It won't be long until it gets way better!

Rufus has worked out a dopp kit blade schedule, and has some cool baseball cards.

I thought Clint was drinking Wild Turkey in his yard at first...

    Herm has been under duress.

Neal, well, you know the drill. I used a Treet today in solidarity.

John is cruising the old type.

@wmbjr - welcome to the Petrograd faction. I'll show you the handshake sometime soon.

Mark living the dream in paradise. Ikon is a cool razor head.

What's up Paul? ... Clubman Tonic today.

@Bird Lives has a new flame.

(I know this is an odd one-off posting, please know if I didn't write about you, it doesn't mean I didn't read it, it probably means I've been awake too long and didn't insert the reply correctly on my phone. Normally I post from Mac or IPad, so android phone tapatalk is a bit unfamiliar. Puppy is keeping me awake all night. Apologies)

I shaved too! Here's the short version...

(This is in no way an official summary, please contact Rufus or Drygulch for the most up to date summary info. But see, I got caught up.)

Back to normal shenanigans, with any luck, tomorrow.

Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

:signs011: Clint nailed it Joef, as he always does!

The quiet room, "ride the cap" (doors), drop the handle ever so slightly - til you hear the whiskers being sliced, and then no pressure - don't press into the skin, let the weight of the razor pull itself through.

And remember, it's a shave man! Relax and practice. Rome wasn't built in a day. Don't rush it, just build your technique one day at a time over the course of 6 - 8 weeks and and before you know it you'll be amazed at how far you've come!

Oh yeah, one more thing, if you're coming off a long time with carts...skip a day from time to time to give your skin a break. When I first started this wetshaving routine, after a lifetime of carts, I was so keen that I shaved for about 15 days straight! Something I NEVER did with carts. My skin wasn't used to it and I was getting irritation and razor bumps. Now I stick to shaving every day for work but take at least 1 day off on the weekend.

    Hang in there!

    Yeowzer!

@Drygulch i think you and I have officially been replaced as official 30DC Secretary and Post Summarizers (if there is such a word) :happy068:

The Grand Poohbah of the 30-Day thread just showed us yet another of his top notch skills - with a summary that would have dropped the jaws on any Readers Digest editor.

The whole time I thought I was watching the scene from Bull Durham...

And, readers digest books are so verbose and full of bloated prose, I usually just read the summary.
