OCtober 30 Day Focus -- Cadet Open Comb October 21 Razor – Cadet Open Comb Blade – TREET Platinum Brush – VDH Boar Soap – Stirling Spice Post - Cold Water Splash, Witch hazel, Old Spice Had to rush out so no picture today. I did not shave yesterday because of the night shave Monday. So today I decided to join Neal (@NCoxSTL) on his TRICK or TREET mission. I am using the TREET Platinum which he has already used and found to be a good shave--or a TREET. After my last shave provided me a reminder of the technique, blade angle, and pressure requirements (I think I have heard something about those lately) with this razor, I was making sure to give it my attention. The blade and razor rewarded me with a good, comfortable, DFS shave. The blade had no signs of tugging or having difficulty with the day and a half growth. It gave no irritation and no blood letting. I think this blade might be very closely behind the GSB and Ladas blades. The blade worked very well and at least shave one was a TREET. Hopefully the blade will hold up and not fall apart over the next couple shaves.
The Cadet OC is a terrific razor. In regard to efficiency and aggressiveness, right up there with the R41/2013 and the Fatip.
It definitely has gotten no complaints from me. It has been a joy to use and has delivered some of my best shaves to date! It also is quick to remind you if you fail to pay attention to blade angle or pressure. I got a lot of leeway with my first razor, a Lord L6. That one had a generous sweet spot so variation did not come back to bite me. The Cadet has a very narrow sweet spot with blade angle and you know it if you get outside of it. I think it was a great second razor to spend significant time on because it has caused me to really pay attention and not get lax with placing the blade where it needs to go.
We really do appreciate it too! People that try to talk way above their level and use big words they don't actually know what mean cause us perturbation or maybe befuddlement or maybe it is beguilement. Either way, I opine that for you, talking slow and using small words is probably a wise course of action.
Thank you. When I don't have the family with me, I allow myself more shave items, so I have a decently stocked kit this time.
I'll definitely do some write up at the end if the month. It feels to me that the angle of attack is bit different for the two razors, though. I have to be real flat against my face with the OC, not quite as much on the C3. I have B1 coming as well, so I may make it a Repeat November and work on all three.
OCtober Focus Day 20: Stirling Synthetic Brush Razorock Don Donato Schick Type C1 Stirling Unscented PSB Brut Classic AS A shave very similar to yesterday. All I can say about these Schick Repeating Razors Is they are fantastic. I love them. I think they are now my favorite razors, which is saying a lot, as I really enjoy some of my other razors.
Clint, I'm glad you like using the shave sticks. It's my favorite way to apply soap, and they travel well. The Wolfman OC is a beauty.
Thank you. The Wolfman is giving the Mongoose a run for the money for my favorite. Thank you. Just trying and failing to keep up with you.
