October 14, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 OC + Ti with Triad Ti Feather (3) Rudy Vey R7 with Shavemac Finest Reef Point Dragon’s Blood Witch Hazel Reef Point Dragon's Blood soap continues to impress me. I have found it very easy to lather with exceptional slickness. Sticking with a traditional 3 pass shave ended in a near BBS which is more than good enough for a Friday morning. I finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum. I hope everyone has a great Friday.

SOTN OCtober 13th Gillette New Standard Super-Max Platinum (3) Satin Tip The Purest Crown King Scuttle Stirling Executive Man Tangerine AS and Nivea Sensitive ASB Good morning friends! Last night I got to use my new Crown King scuttle for the fist time. I started by filling it and the bowl with hot water and let my brush sit in it while I got my setup ready. Once I was ready I loaded the brush for 10 seconds with the Stirling Executive Man and began to build my lather. The lather quick became foamy and it was thin with large bubbles. I though that I didn't have enough soap so I went back and loaded some more and begin to work the lather again. This didn't help at all. I put the lather on my face and the bubbles quickly dissipated leaving a very thick dry lather. I worked some more water into the lather on my face and it quickly became the thick yogurty lather that I love. I finished the first pass and then knowing that the foamy lather left in the scuttle was too dry I added some more water and began to work it some more. With the additional water the large bubbles quickly died down and the lather thickened up nicely. After about 30 seconds I had a great lather that was shiny, and yogurty, and smooth! I painted that lather on my face and ahhhh, warm lather. It felt so good! It was actually a better consistency then the lather I built on my face for the first pass. I finished my last two passes with the luxurious warm lather and ended with a DFS. 3rd day on the Super-Max and its done for, at $0.026 per shave I think they are a decent value. I finished off with my homemade tangerine AS and Nivea Sensitive ASB to make things silky smooth. Have a great day my friends!
This puppy has some serious Blade exposure and made a lot of noise. However, it gave me a great shave. I like it. Route 66 Casablanca Soap Jayaruh #84 Brush Success Safety Razor (Germany) Gillette Silver Blue Blade (1) Alum Lucky Tiger Ogallala Bay Rum Happy Friday!
Razor- Gillette New Deluxe (15 mm) Today was my second shave with this really nice, really mild razor. I have a New LC, a New SC and a New Standard and this is by far the smoothest, and mildest of the bunch. Yesterday was a 2-pass shave and today was 3 passes. Both ended with a nice close DFS that lasted all day. This is now my favorite New variant. My check of Mr. Razor shows that this might have originally been part of the Red & Black set. HERM
I have a complete red and black set but the razor doesn't have the flat bottom. Maybe yours is a earlier version?
Wow, that's nice. Here's the full pic from Mr. Razor. It says "Red & Black Deluxe". Note the difference in the top of the handle between yours and mine. HERM
Deluxe denotes the difference. I dont know if all red &blck sets were deluxe. Mr razor shows both standard and deluxe.
And there were 2 different Deluxe base plates, a 15mm and a 17mm. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/is-your-gillette-new-razor-a-de-luxe.42405/
October 15, 2016 Timeless OC .95 Gap with Triad Ti Feather (1) Rudy Vey R7 with Shavemac Finest Route 66 Twisted Tweed Witch Hazel Floid Blue I enjoy Saturday morning shaves since I am able to take more time and enjoy the process. The big R7 whipped up a mountain of rich slick lather. On the advise of Mark, @Boojum1 I tried my shortest razor handle with the Timeless OC. The short handle works better with the steep angle. Three passes and minimal clean up ended in a inspection ready BBS shave. My personal best with the Timeless OC. Thanks for the tip Mark. I finished off the shave with a splash of Floid Blue and I am ready for a relaxing day with family and friends. I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.

No OC shave for me today. I always use one of my birth year razors for my birthday shave. This year it was the Gillette Aristocrat, 46-47. I don't know of an OC from that time. If I did, I would love to have one. I will go back to OCs tomorrow with my Gillette NEW SC.
I know I haven't posted anything on this thread yet. Still I've been using my only open comb, Gillette New with a PolSilver every shave so far this month. Brush, Soap and post-shave are all variables. The brushes I have been using are in honor of my good friend Jim Roe's birth month. They are Jayaruh #14(The Barrel), #24 which I finished in an olive stain, and #31 which I finished to a driftwood appearance. Jim has been gracious to allow my participation in these and a couple more. Like @Jayaruh today on his birthday, Friday coming (hint, hint) I'll be using my birth year (48-51) Gillette Aristocrat. I don't post pics because I'm not very well versed in using my phones camera enough to do justice to the New and my three favorite brushes. I'm looking for a modern open comb but I am unable to justify the price of a stainless steel and unable to settle on any of the non stainless. I would love to try the Blackbird when the open comb comes out but other financial matters take precedence. I've been following daily the thread and admire everybody's photos and setups. You guys have some great-looking gear. Until next time my friends keep enjoying your shaves. ... To be continued... Don
