Just a great all around shaver, the NEW. A smooth and easy 3 pass shave with the Antica Barbearia cream. Undoubtedly the NEW works with anything you throw at it.

​

 

On this day the Ikon Deluxe OC, a clone of the New Deluxe, beat yesterday's shave with the Short Comb. I get a lot of audible feedback but no tugging or evidence of blade chatter.

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Cella Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #47 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the C.V. Heljestrand Safety Razor with a C.V. Heljestrand Wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Love this soap with its nice barbershop scent. The brush is BIG and it's nice and soft for face-lathering. The New Standard is middle-of-the-road when it comes to aggressiveness and usually a really comfortable shave.

The Ascension just keeps moving up towards the top of the open comb ladder. A superb performer in both efficiency and smoothness that has earned it’s stay and keep in my den.
