Yesterday's shave was a Plisson brush, not a Semogue. I must have been on wacky juice when I wrote that.

 

looks grand now completed..awesome..

 

That is an awful lot of stropping. Once the edge is sharp, all I do is 35 laps on plain linen, and 35 on leather. Try doing that, and see what happens. I think that should suffice.
BTW, some people just cannot do ATG. Try XTG instead.

My Above the Tie "H" plates came in today. I cannot wait to give the open comb a test run in the morning.....may not wait and get a shave in tonight. I love the look of the blue anodized aluminum with the stainless steel top cap and Weber Bulldog handle. The machining on these plates are top notch and very impressive.

 

That's a great looking combo Danny! How does the balance feel?

Thanks Andrew. The handle is 3 1/8 of an inch long and I balanced the OC combo on a Sharpie on my desk. The balance point is about 1 1/4 of an inch down the handle from the bottom of the base plate. In the hand it feels pretty good. It just needs a good test run. I have not shaved since Sunday...this should be fun.
