Was actually the butterknife incident that started the whole thing for me .

That sounds great! Actually, you have a very nice set up. Once you develop solid technique, you'll get consistently close and comfortable shaves. We've all been new to traditional shaving at one time or another, so we know what it's like to get started. Everyone here stands ready to help you and cheer you on!

Lol! I am glad you got my tongue-in-cheek comment, Rick! Now on another subject, I have a suggestion on how to make sure everyone understands a sarcastic remark. How about putting your statement between these two symbols < >?

    RyX DoH!

    <Try this Paul?>*
Tell me about it. Stick your foot in your mouth a couple of times and everyone thinks you have athletes tongue. "DoH!"
Pumpkin Escobar said it best, but I have to paraphrase, "I don't know what you just said, Sir, but you're special man, you reached out, and you touch a brother's heart."
Been there, done that. For some weird reason I've usually been the key holding employee living closest to a place of employment with burglar alarms. At 4AM.
Standard issue here, Gary. Today's daughters 35 B-day. She requested "Time without the kids, please daddy?". Later I'm thinking Panda Buffet for everyone's own favorite Asian foods. Or they keep chicken nuggs and pizza for the less adventurous 4 year old types.
    *Like that Joe?

    Good afternoon gents!
    Shavette Shave #104
    Dovo Shavette
    Polsilver 1/2 DE (6)
    Stirling Boar
Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS
    Nivea Men's ASB (not pictured)
I just finished my workout and had lunch to refuel so I decided to shave my 31 hour stubble to top off the afternoon. Stirling products performed in their usual great way. I didn't bloom, however, I made a nice glistening, smooth and voluminous lather. I only needed 2 passes with very little touchup using my Dovo shavette. Did get a weep on my chin, but my styptic pencil performed its mission to a tee leaving no trace of error on my face. I got a BBS without any irritation. I changed my technique just a bit by relaxing my hand just a little more. This provided me with a smoother and more efficient stroke. Finished with the Stirling Bay Rum AS and then the Nivea ASB. Looked in the mirror and said to myself, I am blessed with a great and enjoyable shave. Guys, have a great Saturday afternoon! 20191005_140935.jpg 20191005_140935.jpg

:signs046: to The Shave Den. Check out the 30 Day Club. Lots of good people at the Den. You'll have fun here and learn a lot no matter how much experience you have or how little.

I enjoy badger knots, however, shaving is a very individual experience. I also have boar and synthetics that I like too. Give everything a far tryout.

Thanks Daniel! This shavette brought me into the world of straight shaving one year ago. I have enjoyed using it from day one.
