Thanks everyone for your kind words and appreciation for this beauty! Here's a few more pics...
Very beautiful... I wish I went to more flea markets and found gems like this. How far do you go for flea markets? and how large are the ones around you?
There's only 2 around me and one of them is just a little community type flea market where people set up on Saturdays only. The other one, where I found this razor, everyday and is a 36,000 square feet old warehouse where vendors set up, pay their space rent, and stay there until they decide they don't want to rent space there anymore. This latter one is also the newest. Only been open about a year. I go at least once a month to check it out and see if anything new is in.
WOW that is huge. There is one around me open on... Saturdays or Sundays i cant remember. I have never been yet... will go with my gfs grandparents one day I think. Hope to find me some goodies. Don't think many wet shavers here so hopefully some good finds .
Big ones like that are a must visit! I was so happy when we finally got a big one. I knew if I didn't find anything, it at least got me out of the house and walking more. lol
I have 2 big ones like that close by. One is in an old warehouse in an old industrial section of the city (cheaper stuff), and the second is a 2 storey place (expensive over-priced stuff). Unfortunately here in Edmonton, people seem to think that anything between 1970 and 1990 is considered an antique. most of the stuff in those shops I can find in my parents house. However, the first place I mentioned is the one with all the decent razors , and for only a few bucks each...if and when the vendors get them. Too bad my city is host to a few wet shavers and/or collectors.
Very, very nice! I notice you're not saying what you paid? No need to feel guilty. I'm sure they made enough money to make themselves happy. I guarantee it was 1/10 or less of what you'd have paid on the bay too. However, you have to take into account your time, gas, etc for all the trips where you didn't score like this! That's why I like flea markets and yard sales. You can "steal" things and they thank you for it.
So, Jody, who's the photog in your family, you or your better half? Somebody is a lot better with a camera than I am.
