this my first decent boar brush, my first was cheap import. i was initially concerned seeing 65mm loft, that long can't be good....... i test lathered with it and it was not too long at all, it did not feel floppy nor did it stink! it had a nice feel on face, i expected a little of that boar stiffness, it was actually soft tried it on arko pressed in a mug, lathered super easy, too easy will try more finicky soap next i don't think this will need any special "break in" I was expecting weeks or months before i would like it... I am pretty happy with it out of box
I believe they were made for professional use: lathering someone else it is different than lathering self. Many like it and I've been using one a few times. Notwithstanding I agree with you on the tricky length, I definitely prefer ZSenith boars or Semogue.
