Hopefully this is a quick thread answer. I just ordered this brush off of eBay and didn't get a model number. I'm too impatient to wait for it to arrive to get a model number, so I'm hoping you nice people can help me identify it.

I think everyone has or should have an Omega Pro 49.

49! Great brush. When you receive it, lather it with shave soap and let the lather dry on it overnight. Repeat a few times. This will accelerate the break-in period and help remove any lingering pig smell. Great Brush, I own the 48, it's the same knot.

I had one of those. It was huge. It looked smaller in the picture. Piffed it.

I'll definitely do that. For $9 shipped, I couldn't pass it up. Plus my other brush turned into a total waste of money.

Or just skip right to the good stuff and get a Semogue. ;)

I do have an Omega in my future... Someday.

I was stuck deciding between the two. I'm sure that I will get one in the future. Right now I was looking for cheap and easy. For $12 more I could have gotten two of the omega brushes and 5 astra razors, but I'm going cheap for right now. I have a bank account watcher for a better half.

An excellent brush and great value. It needs to break in but once it is broken in you'll be glad you spent the money.

You can see how big it is in this Shave of the Day photo.

Oh wow. That is big. I've still got the handle to my crap vintage brush. Maybe I will find a new knot for it and try to work out which one I like better.

That sounds like a plan. It will suck you in, but it is fun.

So I used the brush for the first time today and it is HUGE. You don't really notice it until you start lathering on your face. I will say, that it makes quick work of covering my face but I will probably be on the lookout for a smaller brush to see how that works out for me. Glad to be able to shave again though, so no real complaints.

The Semogue SOC or Semogue 2000 are smaller, and complements the Omega nicely.
