I think DR Harris Arlington would be the one for me. I haven't used all on the list, but the shave is excellent, and the scent is not too strong, so I wouldn't worry of tiring from it. Plus, I could add any cream and superlather whatever stronger scent I felt like going with.
Of my four to five favorites, the one I'm using that day is my "one and only." However, knowing the choice is one and only one, I'm going to go with Roger & Gallet l'Homme. I'm not even sure it's available any more but I love the scent, I easily get three passes of soap on my brush, and the shave itself is always smooth. (Are you sure I can't sneak in Pre de Provence, Provence Sante, and Tabac as well? I'm also waiting on delivery of a La Toja shave stick. What if that becomes my new "one and only"? )
Currently, I could not imagine living without Tabac shave soap. It was my first and will be my last .
Ich stimme mit Dir ueberein. Diese Seife so fabelhaft ist. Aber kann ich fuer Dich auch Golddachs Spezial empfehlen?
My dream is to walk into a junk shop and find a large case of NOS Old Spice shaving soap for sale at a ridiculously low price. (Yes I would share some).
MWF makes the ugliest and most annoying lather I've ever worked with, but for some reason, that thin and vanishing lather gives me incredible shaves. I have yet to try my Arlington or my Pen's BB though, so we'll see
Tabac, but I'm glad it doesn't have to be my only. I've over a dozen soaps/creams in my rotation and love a new scent every morning.
VDH. It may seem that a new shavers opinion wouldn't be as commanding as a veteran. But then again, I haven't being spoiled with having to try everything first. As far as I see it, there might be better out there, but VDH provides everything I had hoped for when I started out on this hobby. So if I had to stop choosing now, (which I don't and won't) I would be very happy using VDH the rest of my life.
