Warning: these may be 'corny'... The corn farmers formed a singing group and won first place in a contest because they were so good at hominy.... We want less sax and violins on TV, and more peas and hominy in the world
Unintended pun- My friend's teenage son is a volunteer EMT, and told me that he was taking "a crash course about motor vehicle accidents.".
The famous Olympic skier Picabo Street (pronounced Peek-a-boo) is not just an athlete. She is now a nurse currently working at the Intensive Care Unit of a large metropolitan hospital. She is not permitted to answer the hospital telephones any longer. It caused too much confusion when she would answer the phone and say: Picabo, I.C.U.

I always prayed before my trigonometry tests. I was hoping for a sine from above. The English teacher felt odd after being fired. Turns out, it was post-grammatic stress disorder.
This is a lot of pun! I get 'em, but it is rather difficult to come up with puns in a language which is not your own. But translations aren't easy either. In a Korean barbecue restaurant I often used to frequent they had translated 'instant noodles' into Dutch (or so they thought). It was translated into 'dringend lomperd', which translates back to English as 'immediate fool'... The fool was as delicious as the rest of the food.
Engrish, hard at work again. The Japanese are the worst when it comes to butchering English. You've mastered contractions, which is often the most difficult thing for non-native speakers to learn. I rarely notice any goofs in your grammer, Mac. Couple times a year, if that. Every once in a while you'll respond to something in a weird way and it reminds me that not everyone here is a native English speaker. In fact, most of the non-native speakers do a better job writing than some who speak English as their birth tongue.
I'm sure impressed by Mike's command of the language. I think he's really a native tring to pull on over on us, fwiw.
