Pre-Gillette Rotbart / Supermax BDT. I added my shave oil back into the mix, I can't say how much that improved the shave but this was a marvelous shave. Pictured gap is with handle locked up tight.

Leresche/Supermax BDT. These last two shaves with my shave oil have convinced me to keep it in the routine. The Leresche is smoother than the Rotbart, no gap, gets its feel strictly from exposure. Brilliant shave.

I'm not sure what I have here. Made in England, and been told it's a New Improved. The guy I bought it from said it was a Bostonian .. you guessed it, it doesn't have a case. By far the best razor / shaver I have but I couldn't stand to shave with it "everyday".

It's not a Bostonian without the case, the razors were the same (New Standard, Bostonian, Richwood in US). My favorite Gillette, congratulations.

 

Old Type with Karve handle/Supermax BDT

 

A deep ringer for the New Improved?

 

The 3 inch Karve handle vastly improves handling of the Old Type, and comes in about 13g heftier than the New Improved. The NI is still the easier shave being less fussy about angle, the OT a tad more effective ATG, but I feel no need to choose among these two favorites. A NI Tuckaway is in transit.
