Hi, sorry it took me so long to backtrail this post. I’ve been very ill, and I have severe memory issues. I finally remembered I had a few posts here, and I am just now checking up on things.

So- the razor head is an authentic Gillette open comb Tech head. It was likely made in England, but could have been made in France. It was intended for the French market. They are not all that uncommon.

The handle was a project by several men associated with the B&B. It was designed by a world renown artist whom I did not and do not know. I was told his name many years ago, but I do not recall what it is. These handles are quite valuable. Originally there was only intended to be a short run, but they were in high demand, and there were several runs. At first brass, then other metals. This one I have is Bronze. It is called a Pendragon.

Hi all, just getting around to posting my OCSOTD from last Thursday.

1920 restored Ball End Old Type.
1956 Gillette Blue Blade.
Trumpers GFT croap.
Crabtree & Evelyn Kashmir Musk cologne.
Simpson’s Duke 2 Badger brush.
Clubman splash (unused)
Vintage Old Spice talc.
Nivea post shave balm.

Another incredible one pass wonder. One stretched out pass (touch ups while making my passes), and it was over in five, maybe seven minutes. This old razor is an excellent shave tool. I have shaven with many Old Types, and this one shaves better and smoother than any of the others. Even though it has the thin cap and baseplate, it shaves unusually well. I think it is from the buffing the plating company did on it. Somehow, simply by accident, between the buffing and plating of that baseplate and cap, they managed to come up with the correct thickness of both pieces, to create the perfect shaver.

It was a good shave. BBS I’m one pass.
