Like the New type handle. I seldom see those on my antique finds around here.I believe the old type handle is from another razor company maybe a Gem or Ever ready. What province are you located in ?

Someone else said that gillette bought companies out and then used their existing stock branded as gillette. Forget who said that. Might have been you.

 

Emailed them. They can't ship me that particular razor because they have all of that stock with amazon.com. said they would be happy to sell me their df91.

Hello fellow Shave Denizens, tonight's SOTN as follows;

Cadet Model 11 OC TTO.
Bolzano Superinox blade.
Chinese Badger Hair Brush.
Maggards London Barbershop soap.
Nivea post shave balm.
Vintage Jade East as splash.
Vintage Jade East cologne.



Tonight was the first time I used this particular razor. I find it very aggressive. I had one of these before, but it had some problems. I gave it away. This one functions perfectly. But man is it aggressive. I got a DFS bordering on a BBS shave tonight.

 

Phoenix DOC arrived last week from a fellow member.
First shave wasn't so great. After reading threads about the razor, I looked closely and saw that there was excessive flashing on the comb.

After removing the extra material, this razor shaves beautifully.

 

How did you clean off the flashing? What did you use?

 

The tip of a pocket knife for in-between the combs, and 1000 grit wet/dry paper for the tips of the combs.
That's where the irritation was coming from, The tips were scratching my face.
