Another great shave this morning. Going with a 3 pass shave, WTG, ATG, & XTG followed by minimal touch ups provided a near prefect BBS. I skipped using aftershave this morning so that I can enjoy the scent of Nuavia Blu longer. Instead I just used a splash of Thayers Witch Hazel. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Hello all, I just had a fantastic SOTD. Here's the particulars-

1930's Gillette Pocket Edition Ball End New.
Vintage Gillette Blue Blade.
Kent BLK2 badger brush.
Maggards artisan London Barbershop shave soap.
Nivea post shave balm.
Avon Mesmerize aftershave lotion.
Avon Mesmerize cologne.



I just got this set yesterday, and it needed a little TLC. I had to repair a crack in the handle and install the Ball End, but a little two part epoxy fixed that. Then I cleaned the razor handle and head again, as well as the case exterior/interior. Then a coat or two of Simichrome polish, and bingo! It was shave ready. Two passes, first WTG, second ATG, and ended up with DFS! Thanks for checking out the scoop, and have a great evening!

Thanks again. For my next restoration, I'm going to do something different. I've got another Gillette Pocket Edition coming in that is very far gone. It needs an interior restoration as well as plating. So instead of replating the case, I'm going to paint it! It's the floral pattern case, so this next project should be interesting. A great 3 pass shave this morning. After minimal touch ups the shave ended in a near BBS which is about usual for a work morning. Finished off the shave with matching Route 66 AS Balm. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Hello all, here's today's OC SOTD-

1937/38 Gillette Senator.
Gillette Silver Blue blade.
Kent BLK2 badger brush.
Proraso Red shave cream/soap Uberlather.
Nivea post shave balm (sensitive).
Avon Mesmerize aftershave lotion.
Avon Mesmerize cologne.



DFS in two passes. WTG then XTG. The superlather of the Proraso Red cream/soap mix provided excellent slickness, which provided great protection and the razor just glided over my face without any skipping or ripping. The Senator is an awesome shave tool too. The open combs allowed enough free flow of Uberlather to make all passes quick and efficient. And above all else, I really enjoyed myself. Another fantastic shave brought to me by Gillette. "The King is dead, Long Live King Gillette!!!"
