Very nice shave this morning with my OLD/Voskhod combo. 3 pass BBS. Then a trip to the fleamarket that resulted in some goodies(see "The Haul")

J.A. Henckels Rapide Hollow Ground SE

Last night I shaved with my Henckels Rapide blade that Adam @Drygulch honed for me. This was by far the most comfortable shave I've had with a hollow ground SE blade. I still experienced some tugging in the mustache and goatee areas on the first pass, but I think I can attribute the roughness in those areas to trying to shave with too shallow of an angle. After 3 passes I was left with a SAS shave but wanted a little more so I did a full fourth pass with my RazoRock Baby Smooth. I also used my newly re-knotted Surrey brush that Jim @jimjo1031 did such a wonderful job on. Not only did he replace the knot but he also polished up the plastic, and I think it looks amazing! The fibers of this knot feel a lot like the fibers being used in the Simpson's synthetic, although the knot isn't nearly as dense as the Simpson's. After a 15 seconds load I was able to make a bowl full of lather and had plenty to spare. Have a great evening everyone!

Hello folks, here's my OC SOTD for today-



Today's implement of beard destruction was my Pearl SSH-01 OC head, on my SABI T-1 handle. Blade was a Bolzano Superinox. I used everything in the photo except the Pinaud.
This razor head is a beast. I rarely get chopped up, but this morning I made a few slight errors and the price was no less than five nicks that actually drew blood. I don't think I have ever had that many nicks before. Oh well, better luck next time eh? At any rate, I will rate this shave as an SAS, due to the blood letting, even though all stubble is gone. I hope you guys, and gals have better luck. But above all else, enjoy your journey through the traditional wet shave kingdom. God Bless, and have a great day!
