ok guys what razor do you prefer open or closed? I am now leaning towards open, I have a Bostonian I love, but I need some input on some modern models
Honestly my face can't tell the difference in an OC or solid bar. Modern, although I think it has been discontinued, is the Merkur 11C. I have one - a mild razor.

It really makes no difference to me. There is always ATT, for a great shaver, Maggards new open comb on the mild side, Fatip if you want to go a bit more aggressive.
I agree, I can't really tell. But, the OC razors do have that "mean, nasty, scary" manly, macho look to them.
I love the look of OC razors and have used them with some success, however I have a bit of a neatly trimmed beard and it's very hard to get hard edges with an OC, so most of my razors are solid bar.
I have been bitten by the Shave Bug. I thought I had just cut myself below my nose, but I know now it was a true Bug bite. I recently bought a Muhle R41, but I have not yet used it. I think I need to work on pressure control and technique before I start experimenting.
That's my favorite razor and daily driver. It's no different than shaving with any other DE with the exception of mistakes...you can't make any or you'll know it.
I always love the last one I kissed. Today she's an O.C. Sheraton. Open Combs can be broken down to short, long comb and TTO. As far as SC and LC go they differ depending on country build. Find the U.S. Ver. vs Canadian to be more aggressive. Also find the LC to be more aggressive over the SC.
Thanks everyone for the feed back, this is why I like this forum true cuts are rare for me, but once in a while
Gillette New Long Comb - mild yet efficient Blackland Blackbird - closed bar - mild yet efficient. So I like both.
the simple answer is both. Blackland Blackbird, Tradere SB and Weber (PH, ARC and DLC) Bostonian (replated) and Fatip on the OC side. I'm looking for a Tradere OC if anyone has one they are looking to sell.
Here is another inexpensive Open Comb- http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/111780655430 These are moderately aggressive, and a fine shaver.
