I've had a hard time finding out much about mine besides that there is one on the bay for $50. Mine is a no model number peerless nylon. Excited me to see one up there. This is the one on ebay. I don't feel well enough to get mine out of the bathroom and take a photo of it this early in the morning. its about the same except mine looks more used.
I don't need to know anything really. It works well for me I've had it for 10+ years and I don't intend on getting rid of it unless it gets ruined somehow. So far its my favorite brush.
What caught my eye on the one on eBay is that it has a Peerless container that is marked "Canada" and the brush says "USA". I don't recall seeing Peerless made in Canada. I made mental note to keep an eye out about that.
That one is from my personal collection. As I was researching these babies I was also quietly buying up the ones I liked on eBay. I really like those too. The fishhook was the only item they encased in lucite and I believe it was a shout out to the founder who was an avid fisherman who actually owned his very one freshwater lake (now a New Jersey state park).
I seem to remember that he was having issues with the first batch of knots he had received having a proper consistency so he had to go with VieLong. This along with the cost of purchasing and machining aluminum and especially titanium would almost require more of a "spot pricing at sale" versus a "catalog pricing" method. http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/for...es-introducing-my-project?p=608788#post608788
I already have one so I'm not interested in the one that is there. Mine might be in worse condition but it works well for me.
@bladeshark , I was looking at my Rubberset, and it doesn't match the 373 or 374 exactly. The part that holds the knot is slightly different and the Rubberset script is more ornate. Would that make it an earlier or later model? It has been reknotted, but the brush size and length match the original. The screw on cap doesn't have the large single perforation in the center, instead it has the 4 small ventilation holes on the sides of the cap.
I've never seen that one before. The style used for the Rubberset name unique and definitely would help date it. If I come across an ad using that style I'll let you know. That's always the best way to date them.
I believe this is a "Travelers Collapsible" model. I have found an ad from 1921 - 1922 with that model with block font script so this one may even be older.
I would guess it to be a later model, probably post 1956. The ornate nature has a Sherwin-Williams era flare to it.
I just saw Gary's response... He very well may be right. The ornate style of the name just bothers me.

Great pictures. Interesting that they put it in quotation marks ---- "Rubberset". That may also help identify it down the road.
