My fav fibers are synth. Specially the sweet ones. For all the tastes, Oumo has a good one. https://oumobrush.aliexpress.com/store/group/SHD-Synthetic-Knots/5048121_10000001401196.html Just seen the new Brown Tip on White. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002755117948.html So unnatural, truely synthetic, pure perfection. I love its picture!!!
The evolution of the Brown Tip, is finer and denser. BUT, so thin can have some backbone? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005093458997.html The site explain that setting have to (or must?!) be very short. As in the ancient Rome ... Caveat Emptor. Anyway, I'm playing with this idea in my mind. This is the Sparrow S1 on the Babel handle.
Just done. Sparrow S1, set 27x50mm Babel "Nebula", 65mm Now, the hard part ... waiting the 8th March. More to follow.
Nope. Mother Lode is way softer. This come from Oumo Tuxedo Smoky fiber. But, designed to have double density with the double of hair densely packed and hand-tied. Same concept of Wald Shaving ... https://waldshaving.com/pages/synthetic-knots ... with the chinese touch on price.
Looks like someone is not happy with Oumo Sparrow. http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=64933&pid=999738#pid999738
After a month of daily use, I realized that Sparrow is a world in its own right. The latest generation of synthetics, after Mother Lode. Same sweetness of the tips, the best. No whip effect, no glue bubble. Very thin fibers, tied by hand with a unique and very high density. Following the concept of Wald, but at human prices. This leads to a massage superior to other synthetics, comparable with an excellent natural Silvertip. In practice, I think it is the perfect union of the two worlds. With all the advantages of synthetics, but without the disadvantages of natural. With the right setting, on a suitable handle, it can be perfect. For me, the Babel handle is nice but uncomfortable. Wide section, makes the grip less comfortable. But especially the resin is heavy. Much more than wood. In fact it weighs more than 50% more than others with similar dimensions: • Knot 27mm • Loft 50mm • Height 115mm • Weight 93g
Not sure I'm interested in a new version of Muhle STF. What do you think about? https://oumoshavingbrush.com/blogs/carry-says/about-super-fiber https://oumoshavingbrush.com/blogs/carry-says/about-super-fiber-part-2
