Jim, great write-up and it sounds like you most certainly enjoyed the PAL. The PAL has become my favorite razor. I have not had any issues with my grip on it, but I know that others have raised that issue on this forum. It's one fine razor and, when the opportunity comes along, be sure to add one to your den.

I have no problems with the handle, are you producing to much lather ! During the shave you could whilst rinsing the head ,rinse the handle too. I have just had two days with a PAL adjustable and had no problems.

When going XTG and ATG, I rest a razor on the back of the handle on my middle finger. It's not the soap, but when it gets wet with water, it slips. It has to be a combination of the curve, it being smooth and the head being heavier than Schick razors. Doesn't happen even with a Fatboy, Slim, etc. For me that smooth surface would be a lot better if it had a ribbed or grooved surface. Now that's just my opinion, but I am not the only one when it comes to the razor slipping. It's a great razor and produces excellent shaves and I most likely will get one eventually, but I will modify the back of the handle by having grooves put there or having it done by stippling. Making it a rough like surface for a better grip, as done on some firearms for the same reason,, as this would be the easiest way. It's a textured finish.

I think from a brief analysis of my grip, I always seem to have fingers gripping the ribbed edges , and its my first finger which I rest on the back. We each have our own techniques, sorry you are having problems with this Razor.

It wasn't that much of a problem, just had to shift my grip. but like I mentioned, I would still get one. It could also be from the fact that I have had carpal tunnel and surgery, but it's still there plus nerve damage and it's that way it's most comfortable for me holding it. My middle finger does the actual guiding of the razor when going XTG an ATG. Fingers are always constantly tingling and some loss of feeling, but I've gotten used to it.

I can sympathise with your problem , as my wife has problems gripping things as she has what is called Dupuytrens and cannot straighten fingers. Well done for adapting to the problem. I hope you continue to
enjoy this crazy Shaving Bug we all have.

Could I please be withdrawn from this list? I got over excited, and went ahead and bought one. I will keep following along though, great thread.

Too funny - I did the exact same thing when I had signed up for a passaround some time ago on another forum. Unfortunately, when I got the razor it was busted so I ended up returning it. Insult to injury was that I got reassigned to the back of the line. :( So, how about if you let me know when you have it in your hands. If it's a keeper I can take you off at that time. I'd hate to see you lose your place. ;)
