    Same thing happened the other day. I handed down my cheap Vanderhaugen brush to my stepson because he wanted to take up wet shaving. I was showing him how to whip up later with a tube of CO Bigelow I gave him and it made a ton of lather. I used that brush for 3 years before giving it to him so it's nice and broken in. I was kind of like,sure now you work well! Lol
