Am I the only one that thinks the Pils looks like a crossbreed between a Tradere and a Futur? That's not a criticism, just an observation.
While I don't particularly like the looks of the Pills, all the really counts is how it shaves for the owner.
Thanks again for the tip. I've never really been a fan of Voskhods and I am still not 100% sure it's the blade that made the difference today or just me being slow to adopting to the razor head but regardless it gave me a much better shave I'm tempted to put the Feather in tomorrow...hmmm
If I remember correctly the only blades Pils sells are Feather blades. I guess Pils must think Feather blades pair up well with their razors. Didn't have much luck using a feather blade in the Pils but it would be interesting to see what happens if you try it. Then we get to know if it was your technique or the blade. (I'm guessing both) Good luck with tomorrow's shave. Mr Pils, kinda catchy. Better than the nicknames my wife calls me.
Nope. I'm English. I live in Denmark and I can speak Danish. However that didn't help me with the word Dritt cos that ain't Danish. According to Google that word is Norwegian. This does beg the question how does a dude who spends all his time in a coffee shop searching e bay for awesome razors know rude Scandinavian words?
Ah, you're right it's Norwegian. I speak Danish, Swedish and Norwegian so sometimes I get confused as there is so much overlapping /sorry, that concludes the thread deviation
Fifth - and final - day shaving report Finally. It all seem to come together now on the fifth day - I had....a great shave! I switched back to the Feather blade today as I wanted to see how much, if anything, yesterday's improvement had to do with the Voskhod blad. Turns out today's shave with the Feather was even better than yesterdays. I noticed that I have started to angle the razor much like a SE razor - with the top cap getting close to being flat against the skin of my face. The resulting shave today was effortless but more importantly resulted in a very smooth and close shave. So, I think it was just me being slow on the uptake in terms of how to correctly angle the head. It's a mild razor that's for sure but one that is capable of delivering a great, close shave. Phew.
Ended up using my Pils 101NE this morning. I truly do love the look and feel of this razor...but I am still struggling with if I like it or not....something I thought I had gotten past.. Out of the stainless steel razors I have it's by far the mildest one and the one that requires more touch-up passes. There is also something about how it 'feels' when I shave that isn't as pleasurable as say a Wolfman, Blackland or Tradere. I have some thinking to do about this 'little' guy.
Bah, I don't see myself taking extra steps like that to make a modern razor work [for me]. I'll see what I end up doing...I'd love to hold on to it though just for how it looks and feels...but if it doesn't shave well [for me] that might be hard to justify. Oh decisions.
