I enjoyed finding this thread. Just so happens that my Dad is an avid knife collector. He often gives me knives as gifts, my favorites of my collection include these four. I usually don't carry a knife, but when I do, the Kershaw is thin, on the small side and has a solid clip. Correct me if I'm wrong, but ill try to identify them. The top one is an Emerson CQC-8, the next one down is an Ken Onion Designs Flipper, then some type of Kershaw, and that beast on the bottom is a Strider DB-L NSN.
My EDC is a Gerber AR 3.00 Not the most expensive knife, but she sharpens up easy and holds her edge well. I've beat the piss out of it and carry everyday, everywhere I go except when I have to get on a plane. It's a great and simple little knife.
I've carried a pocketknife since I was a little kid. The middle knife, a Buck 705V, has come to work with me almost everyday for about 20 years. The bottom knife, was its temporary replacement when the other knife became "lost" and then found again. The Swiss army knife comes with me whenever I'm wearing jeans. I'd hate to live in a place where you are not allowed to carry a pocket knife.
I have a Victorinox Cadet that my wife and kids got for Xmas one year. I have an Altoids PSK set up for urban areas that has matches, bandaids, bacitracin and a Gerber knife in it. On my belt I carry a L Hargis custom knife made with California burled buckeye. Sometimes I will slip in another knife such as my Buck 110 that I shaved the edges down to make it a much smaller and slender profile or a SOG Twitch II in my right rear pocket next to my Fenix PD30. I am working towards carrying that knife consistently like I do my light. So that it three or four knives on any given day. I also carry a SOG multi tool when I am in civilian clothes.
I always carry a small Buck 2 blade pocket knife that I received from my daughter on my first father's day last year. The only time I didn't was when I "lost" it and later found in in the dryer, of all places. When that happened i had to buy a cheapo knife from Walmart. I think it was a remington and maybe cost 5 bucks.
I carry one of the swiss army jobs with the scissors, toothpick and tweezers. I think they sell for about $22-25. I'll forget to grab my cell phone and wallet before I'll forget the knife.
I have a handful of folders that I carry depending on situation. For the last few months, a Spyderco Techno has been a constant companion for work. On the weekends, I still carry a nice 3.5" Spyderco with an Aogami Super Blue blade. It takes a fantastic edge with minimal effort.
Kbar has some nice some one hand opening knives at a fair price. I own and like the Kbar Dozier Folding Hunter with 3" blade. It's a light weight but, rugged little mid-back locking knife and only about $20. The Zytel handles come in multiple colors including black and orange. You can choose between a thumb stud or oval shaped thumb hole for opening. What might be another plus for you is the knife has a lanyard hole that can be used to attach it to your belt with paracord or something similar, as well as a reversable pocket clip....
Why should a knife be against the law for a law abiding citizen to carry at any time and any place ????
I know at least one pastor and several members who pack regularly in church. If one pays any attention to the news, there's a good reason.
I have quite a few but the one I've been carrying around most lately is a CRKT Ignitor, not serrated. It has a spring assisted blade so it snaps open fast and makes a nice (and pretty loud) sound as it opens. I was carrying it on Christmas too and I think I scared the in-laws when I pulled it out to open a package
I love pocket knives (all knives really - fixed, folders, assisted opening, kitchen, autos, etc). I've had a pocket knife in my right front pocket almost every day since I was in grade school in the mid 70's. My wife got me a beautiful Le Theirs Campagnon with horn scales for Christmas. Here's a few pics. A few Case Pocket Knives A few Queen/Schatt & Morgan

I have carried a Buck 501 Squire for the last 13 years. For the 20 years prior to that, it was a small Old Timer lockback, which was lost and then found two years later. Before the Old Timer, I forget, but have carried a pocket knife of some sort every day since I was eight.
I carry a Spyderco Manix 2. Its probably a little big for edc but its a great knife. I love the beefy blade and the g10 scales and I also love the bearing lock. I had a small sanenza for a while but it was just too small for me, but that was a hell of a little knife too.
