I am right at the 20 minute mark. Like others have said, I don't rush because it is my relaxing, meditative time. I can think of a few times when I was running late, needed to make the train, and reached for the Progress, opened it up to 4, and did a respectable 1 pass shave. I don't think that took very long. On weekends I take my time, especially on Sundays, my straight shave day!
Well I put down the whole routine time as @ 25 minutes, but that includes showering, shaving, brushing my teeth, and then the cleanup.
I think it takes me so long just because I dont have the techniques down pat yet... I hope to get quicker for when I need to. but I think the time I take to shave right now is good.
my times always vary...on weekends i love to take extra time and during the week it can sometimes be rushed.
It usually takes me about 20 minutes. I set the alarm so that I don't have to hurry. Lay everything out, prep, 3 pass shave, rinse, clean everything up, dry blade and brush. No pressure.
Takes me a solid 20 minutes. I have learned so much recently and have greatly changed my shaving habits for the better and it has really paid off!
I would guess that my usual time for a relaxed, comfortable 2-pass shave (which puts me on the scale about halfway between DFS and BBS) is a total of about 20 minutes. It's a little hard for me to estimate because I heat my mug and mix my lather first, then shower --which I'm not counting as part of my shave time-- and then I lather up and shave. So what I consider my shaving time is split into two parts, pre-shower and post-shower. I used to try to do it all post-shower, but I want to leave my face wet & warm from the shower and I found that if I wait until after my shower to mix the lather, my face would dry and cool in the meantime.
15-20 minutes for prep 2 pass shave and cleanup. My wife and I share a house with 3 bath rooms. She has hers and I have mine. doesn't matter how long each of us takes as long as there is hot water.
I prep by showering and don't count that as shaving time. Once I'm out, I'm probably 10-15 minutes from making lather to applying whatever aftershave treatment I decide on. I don't shave slowly but still do three passes and very often, rather than ATG or buffing, finish off with my Norelco on the areas that have given me trouble (irritation). The dirty little secret to the perfect shave for me is knowing when to put the DE away and hitting those spots (two areas on my neck and under my lip) with the electric. I'm not proud.
Mine still sit around 15 minutes at home; when in the field I timed myself at around 5-10 minutes max from starting to lather to cleaning up my shave kit. I think at home it's more a subconscious effort to try to keep the relaxing feeling a shave going lol.
I'm another slow poke plus I'm retired so I dont have to hurry for no one I take about a hour, but that's shower, prep, plus I head shave.
30 plus newbie minutes. Still working on technique and mapping. I'm retired so I can take my time and enjoy the process while learning. Plus, if I rush I tend to butcher my face.
I'd say from the time that I fill my sink up with water to the time I'm putting AS Balm (homemade) I'd say a good 30 minutes if not a little more. 2 full passes and a third around the chin and moustach area using a Magic Shavette with a fresh 1/2 DE blade every time. All passes are WTG. Better be safe than sorry plus the shave is a DFS .
