    They're more fun than a monkey's uncle.

The meatloaf was, I must say, spectacular. I saved some of the gravy from my crock pot pork chops and mixed it in the meat. double drool.

Mini review of the matte.... I used this tonight as a test drive for tomorrow.

The scent starts out quite strong, but fades over time. Best I could describe it is barbershop-y of a variety that might not be for everyone. It was a bit off putting for me.

A very little goes a long way so the pricing isn't as bad as it seems. Seriously, use very little of this stuff until you work out what's right for your hair. I mean like a pointer fingernail's worth (and certainly not an axe or old spice gob).

Performance... so far, pretty happy although it could do a better job holding the hair over my crown. Maybe I need a bit more product there. But, in any case, so far, great hold, height, and definition on my bangs which I wear as a parted pomp.

Typical of every other pomade that I've used, it gets on everything you touch while styling your hair. But, you probably already have had this problem with similar products. On the plus side there, it is a water-based product so it seems to clean up easily with a little soap and water.

edit: I forgot to mention shine... while this is billed as a "matte" product, it does impart a slight sheen to your hair. If you want a truly matte finish, this isn't for you. But, by no means to you end up with super shiny either. I'd call it more of a "healthy hair" sheen.

@richgem So far I'm really happy with the pomade. I agree about that there is some 'shine' to it but it doesn't come across as greasy - more like healthy.
I didn't care much for the scent in the beginning but I must admit it has grown on me.

I used the "classic" (wax & oil based) today. Similar acceptable results and better smell (almost none). Again, a very little goes and very long way. Main difference is this stuff is was & oil based and gives you high shine which can look greasy if you over do it. Oddly, I felt that it dried my hair out a bit.

If I would ask for anything I think I'd want a bit more hold. I love the 'subtle shine' and that it's water based.
I'll check with them and see what they recommend.
