    I was thinking the Veg, but it might wind up with the opposite effect and draw in even more of the vile vermin!

    The facts speak for themselves, Paul. A possum has never been seen within 50 miles of your residence. :p

    I caught plenty of opossums with Havahart traps. Cat food was the bait that seemed to attract them best These traps work well for raccoons, too. Just take the miscreant critter 10-15 miles away and release them into their new home in the country. There are similar traps for skunks. Skunk traps are lower so the skunk can't raise its tail and spray.

    Critters in cities are nothing new. A friend of mine was walking in San Francisco and a coyote came up next to him at a crosswalk. I have seen skunks run across the street in one downtown area in Silicon Valley.
