My sister is returning to France next week for a vacation and offered to pick me up another 200g of Martin de Candre there (the Fougére variety). The problem is I still have what appears to be 98% of the original jar she purchased for me last year, despite my using it for many, many shaves. The soap lasts forever… The eternal puck…
Still haven't bought mine, I've been very tempted but it's hard to justify that cost vs what I pay for my other stuff LOL. My parents do have friends that go to France twice a year for vacation so I may see if they can bring me some back though without the insane shipping prices.
Here is what I discovered: the prices charged in the swank Magasin de rasoir élégant are comparable to what one pays here with shipping. Case in point: the 200g MdC jar my sister purchased in Paris last year at Planete Rasoir cost 41€ ($61 US), so I suppose one has to really dig to find MdC at bargain prices.
I have steeled myself. If I bought it I must use it up. By periodically using something I dislike I appreciate the good stuff all the more. There is one exception though." Neutrogena MEN Shave Cream" It feels like chicken fat going on. It feels like chicken fat while I am shaving. It never, ever wants to wash off. It smells good. How do I dispose of it without contaminating the land fill? Mickey
