Man how time goes by... So I used the original one, it was good. Then I found two week sets, and a wooden "lone" set, so this first set is gone now. I also found a cool Mulcuto hoe razor, I need to take a pic !

[IMG] I Honed this Old BOKER Solingen Full Hollow Ground Blade Last Night..Its a Tad Longer than the CV Heljestrand Blades I have & its a Fair Bit Heavier in the Hand..It Fits the CV Heljestrand Fine..Boy..This Old BOKER Blade is Seriously Hard Steel & it Offered Me Very Little Feedback on the Hone although I Did Manage to Tune into it Eventually..It Took a Killer Edge..:)

It Took Me a Long Time to Hone this Blade All the Way Through the Progression System..Took Me Longer to Hone than Some Hard Swedish Steel SRs..A Few Folks have PM Me Recently in the UK & Asked if I had a Spare SE Hollow Ground Blade or Can I Sharpen Them..I said Yeah..That will be £12.00 & Postage in the UK for a Honing Job or £25.oo Posted for Freshly Honed Blade that I May have Laying Around..:D

Err..:shocked029:..I Will Get Back to You Later...I Will Need to Think About it..:happy102:

I Get this Quite Frequently..Not that I Am Any Expert of Course..The Point Being..When Folks Find Out they May Need to Spend a Bit of Doe on these Hollow Ground Blade SEs they Wont Pay it..Its the Same with Rolls Razors..Here in the UK You can Purchase a Cracking NOS or Minty Condition Rolls Set for £20.00 English or Under..

A Guy the Other Week there Asked if I Would Restore a Rolls for Him if he Bought One..I Said Yeah..There's the Price & here is an NOS Rolls on UK EBay..Go for that One..It Went for £7.50 English & the Guy Got another One that was a Pile of Junk for £6.00 English..He Showed Me it & I Said Well Bugger off I am Not Touching that Pile of Junk for You to Save £1.50 it Will Take Me Hours to Restore That..:rolleyes005:

Bug Off Mate..Take a Hike..Go & Buy the Wifey a Cheapo G String with the £1.50 You Skimped On.. :happy097:

Getting a Hollow Ground Blade SE Up & Running Wont Cost a Lot of Doe..A Rolls System is a Good Way to Go..Get a Decent One & Pay Someone to Hone the Blade for their Time..Its Not Gonna Break the Bank & You Will be Rewarded..£25.00 English is a Small Price to Pay for a Properly Sharpened Hollow Ground Blade that are Almost Impossible to Buy or the Price of a Hone Job if You Already have One..:p

There is No Need to Burden Yourself with Getting into Honing these Blades to Maintain a Hollow Ground Blade SE..A Rolls System that is Set Up with a Properly Honed Blade will Maintain it Almost Indefinitely..Any other Hollow Ground SE can be Maintained with Just Stropping for a Sustained Period of Time & the Odd Refresh on Pastes..Like a Beginner Learning to use an SR You May Prematurely Blunt them but Hey that's Part of the Course..Most Guys that Shave with SRs Don't Hone their Own Blades..They Pay to get them Honed..;)

These Hollow Ground Blade SEs Don't Need to be Any Different..:angelic007:

I agree with you Billy, the amount of work to restore and hone such a blade is so much that it can't be cheap ;)

Whippeddog will hone a Hollow ground blade for $18 US, I plan to send a couple to him for my introduction to this style of SE shaving

@gssixgun honed four of my old wedge blades and they came out amazingly. I can't recall exactly - and prices may have changed - but it wasn't too much. Twenty/blade maybe.
