I have not had this happen, although I placed the lime puck into immediate use and broke out the bay rum a few days later. If there is one thing I don't care for about the pyrate cove soaps it is the endlessley irritating tissue paper wrappers. They are a complete pain to deal with.

Huh, I've never had that issue either. With soaps heavy in glycerin it is always a possibility I suppose, but I don't see why only the pucks still in the tissue paper would sweat. Have you tried them out yet to make sure that it is performing properly?

The tissue paper is a pain, but I usually just pull off the bulk of it and then dunk it in water to get the rest off.

No worries, those soaps will do best in your ziplock containers. The tissue paper does not form an airtight barrier. As mentioned, sweating you see is due to the high glycerin content in those soaps, coupled with humidity if your cabinet is in/near the bathroom. Usually, bath & shaving soaps that are particularly high in glycerine (including melt-and-pour soaps) are shrink wrapped in plastic or sold in containers. (I haven't used Pyrate's Cove soap & do not know anything about the formula).

All handmade soaps contain glycerin as a byproduct of saponification ("milled" soaps have the glycerin removed by pressing through heavy rollers. The glycerin is often sold for use in moisturizers). As a strong humectant, the glycerin draws water from the air & forms beads or sweat on your soap depending on humidity. It's not harmful, but can be annoying as you discovered. The soaps will last longer & be less messy in a lidded container or ziplock bag.

Thanks ALOT guy and gals for all the valuable info!! :happy088: I keep my soaps in a cabinet in the bathroom so humidity may well be an issue. Also my other soaps are wrapped in plastic wrappers. I took all the Pyrates Cove soaps yesterday and melted them(I REALLY Love melt and pour soaps) into small "Ziploc" plastic storage containers(they make wonderful soap containers) puck sized, sealable and stackable. This morning I used the Pyrates Cove Lavender with great results so nothing seems to have been harmed, just a little mess as ohpaos mentioned. From now on with "Pyrates Cove" or any other soap thats wrapped in tissue I will immediately "decant them" :happy102: into a container...THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE for all the help...:)

Love the Bay Rum, but the Cucumber and Melon is a bit to "perfumey" for my tastes. If anyone in Con US wants to try it let me know.

Sad, very sad. I feel sort of the opposite. I am not a fan of the bay rum scent in any form (even though I love Ogallala soaps), but I love the cucumber and mellon scent. Oh well, everyone is different. Pyrate Cove has plenty of variations on the bay rum, so you've got a lot to choose from if you decide to try among different.

It's all good. Love the lather but just not the smell. Look forward to buying some other scents from them. Coconut maybe.

I have not had this issue, and I have one of every scent. I will keep a closer eye on the soaps that I have and let you know. .

Sigh, no one other than me seems to like the Cucumber and Mellon scent and everyone seems to love Bay Rum, which I dislike intensely. Maybe I'm just weird. I don't like coffee or tea either, so I could just be wired differently...

I think it is unlikely that Pyrate's Cove would make the Cucumber & Melon for just one customer. There must be others who like the scent and buy this soap.

I just received the Bay Rum, Cucumber Melon, and Sandalwood pucks. I'm looking forward to using the Sandalwood tomorrow. I will post my thoughts afterward!

The Bay Rhum has been my go-to soap for the past month. I love this stuff. The lather is lush and silky, and very protective. I also like the smell. I will order some of their others when I get done with this one. I have many other soaps I haven't tried but this one is my current favorite. It knocked 2 creams and 2 other soaps out of rotation.

That's the funny thing; I don't like bay rum but I like theirs. I think it's the combination of the lime.
