Most days I shave half awake before I scoot off to work and just use the same set up, a Merkur HD with a Shark Super Chrome. I have a few other razors ( Feather Portable, Ball End Tech, Bar Handle Short Comb New, and a Progress), but the HD does what I need.
Go to my shave den page to see what I use. I don't have a set rotation. I usually keep only one razor loaded with a blade for the life of the blade then decide if I want to use a different razor for the next blade, etc.
I usually use a Parker 60R. Nice razor. I have a gillette ball end tech that I use sometimes. Also a really nice razor.
Hello? V1P3R? You there? Hel-l-l-l-o-o-o-o-o? Anybody home? Poor guy probably had heart failure from seeing soooo many options. Hope he's okay!
Merkur 38C loaded with Bolzano blades - perfect combination (for me) Bolzanos are almost sharp as Feathers, but are not that wild and give smooth shave every time.
'53 Gillette Super Speed... for now. But my wallet seems to be praparing for severe atrophy, due I imagine, to this phenomenon I have learned is termed RAD :shocked031 I distinctly remember my Dad shaving with (and he also letting me "shave"- sans blade), a Gillette S/S Red Tip; so that lil' devil would really be a prize! I just hope he remembers where it is after all these years.
Pretty much in the order of the frequency of use: 1901 Ever Ready Lather Catcher 1912 Gem Damaskeene Gillette 3 piece old type ball end 1952 Gillette Super Speed Gem Micromatic OC 6/8 McPherson Bros. Silver Steel 5/8 Dovo Valet Auto Strop
I use mostly straights, but if I'm in a hurry or traveling where I don't want to take a straight, I use the Merkur 23C or an old Gillette Slim Handled adjustable.
Although I have more than a few razors, I find myself only using 2 of them. A Mergress, and Bobs 'Old Type' Bull Mastiff. I keep both loaded and locked.
