Etoyoc, thanks for those links on hand stropping. It looks simple and straightforward with single edge and cartridge razors, but a little hazardous with double edge blades. Even so, it is something useful to remember if one is ever faced with a limited supply of blades.
I've been hand stropping DEs and SEs for almost two years. I've never cut myself hand stropping a blade. Never cut myself changing one out, either. The key is to respect the fact that a blade will cut you to the bone if you're not careful. I always pay attention to what I'm doing.
