I almost got the V3 but went with the V2 Hulk Green (aluminum). I love it, especially with Kai Captain Titan Protouch MG blades. Shaved with it and a Yaqi Romulus last night to compare. I think I'd like the extra weight of the V3. Off to spend, I mean save more money.
I have ordered the Feather Pro Super to see if they get that last tiny bit out of the razor. They are a little bit wider than the other blades so maybe this will bring me 100% thoroughlyness. So far I had a minimum of stubbles left in my trouble spots which the Hawk did not catch. Don‘t get me wrong, I love the Hawk and the shaves are wonderful but the shaves get me to 98% BBS, not 100%. So let‘s see what the blades can do
I have all versions of the hawk since it came out 9 years ago or so. I like V3 the best because the polished head glides amazingly well, however the V2 are a fantastic value and I do like the light weight. I tried the V3 different plates and the standard plate works best for me. The best AC style blades IMO are Schick ProLine and I prefer them, by a wide margin to Feather and Kai. I find them to be sharper and smoother and I never had a bum blade which I did encounter with Feather from time to time. If RR would ever comes up with a titanium version - I'd be all over it.
