So I have seen posts from a couple of people on using this stuff to preserve straight razors. I picked up a can. As always I have questions.
    1. Do I need to clean the blade first?
    2. Does it have to be buffed after putting it on?
    3. Do you still oil the razor before long term storage?

Yes apply to a clean dry blade using a dry cotton cloth leave a little while then buff off, I you have firearms you can also use it to protect them the same way.

I went through and waxed all my straights today while the kids were napping. For long term storage, do they still need to be oiled as well?

Unless you live somewhere with crazy humidity you should be fine. I wrap mine in VCI paper, but a good coat of wax works wonders. I do live somewhere fairly humid and did just fine with just wax but always wanted something more for my long term items. VCI is also the paper that razors get wrapped in before leaving Glen's place too. That is where the idea came from for me.
