My apologies, since Denmark practically rubs elbows with Sweden, where they eat Lutefisk, I thought you guys might too. Here in the U.S., we eat Mexican food all the time even if we're not Mexican. Doh, now I just looked up Lutefisk and realize it's not fermented, it's soaked in salt and lye. :ashamed001
Yeah Denmark really lost the game when it comes to eating disgusting stuff. We have some really boring food though...
+1 A friend of our family used to make homemade Root Bear, it was phenomenal! Stewarts is my favorite store bought Root Beer.
Yeah, it was me. Looked it up, saw it was some kind of sweet soda-drink and voted that I don't like it. Wanna know why? Because I don't drink any kind of canned sugar-water-flavour-mix. No Pepsi, no coke, no whatever. They put much stuff I don't want to consume into these drinks. When I'm thirsty I drink plain water and when I want something different I drink tea, locally pressed apple-juice, real beer (water+malt+hops+yeast only), wine, homemade applewine, real scotch and the likes. I don't buy industrially made drinks and avoid industrially made snacks/food too.
Klaus, In the USA we have many small soda makers who craft small batches of soda without all the chemicals in Coca Cola and Pepsi products. I rarely drink soda and when I do it's more often than not a small local brand, typically root beer.
Well, I worked at a small lokal brewery one summer in the holidays and I was there when they made their soda. The cans with the concentrated stuff they put in the soda to make it taste like orange for instance had all kinds of warnings on them. Some were even harmful to the environment and were carrying this sign: That day I lost my appetite...
For me, I've found some of the big brands (IBC, A&W, Barq's and so on) to be over rated compared to a couple of stores brands. A premium price does not mean a better taste.
+1 I had a Root Bear float last night made with A&W's and Baskin Robins Vanilla ice cream! Who says deploying is terrible!:happy102
