Well, BW, I'm not sure if I have sensitive arm pits or not. I've pretty much only used one deodorant stick since I was a teenager and that was the Old Spice classic round stick. It never gave me any irritation problems so either I'm not sensitive or I' am and I picked the right deodorant from the start. However, recently the Old spice round stick has become impossible for me to acquire, I think it may have been discontinued; like many of the other old time products that work so well. While I'm not sure if my armpits are sensitive, my nose is for sure! I tried Mennen speed stick and Brut and the smell was just too much for me. Then I ordered the Tabac from fragranceX at the same time that I ordered some Tabac shave cream and aftershave. I've been using it for a couple weeks and there's no irritation and the scent is mild and very pleasant. I suggested that you give the Tabac deodorant a try in the hopes that you'll get lucky and it'll work for you; no more, no less. Good luck finding something that works.
I was going to say just run down to your nearest Walgreens or CVS and they have it, but that probably won't work in Japan, huh? and yes...if the Old Spice classic stick didn't burn like fire and make you break out all splotchy red, you don't have sensitive pits. :happy102 It's the only deodorant that has ever done it to me...
Glad to hear Ray! If you have a Big Lots near you they have the scented version for a descent price. Citrus and Lavender I believe? Spritz works fine but doesnt last nearly as long as the crystal.
Recently started using the crystal spray for $2.40 from Vitamin Shoppe. Excellent results in a high temperature and humidity environment.
I usually spray 3 per and that works fine down here in Tejas where it's been in the 100s. I think the rock form works better but the spray is good too.
Ray, you know at times no one on earth can sweat as much as me and my brothers. I've yet to have the rock fail, even coming back from a mid-day fire all hot, sweaty, dirty... I could literally wring my shirt out it was so soaked with sweat... no odor troubles at all! :happy088 I'm sure the spray works just as well, after all, you do have to moisten the rock to apply... One thing I'll never change now is some form of the crystal type deodorants.
Sounds like a miracle product, so there must be the side effect we dont know about yet. Well maybe 3 arms will be handy. Get it? Handy. Oh I slay me.
I used Old Spice stick deodorant for years and then, all of a sudden, I started getting the same irritation that you describe, Ray. I switched to the rock (mineral salts) about 15-20 years ago and have had no problems with it. Another nice bonus is that I get way over a year of daily use (probably closer to two years) out of one stick. Definitely give the stick a try.
And right there is why we don't hear about it. The big boys can't make enough money when you only have to buy one for the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Moved to the Crystal rock (w/aloe) a few days ago and wow, another miracle product. No bad scent the entire day even after swimming surprisingly. So how do you know when it the product is kaput? I mean the actual rock. Does it dissipate or does it just quit working? Also when they say wet it, do you saturate it under water or can you just rub your wet hand along the top?
It wears down slowly. Very slowly. Eventually you'll get to a point where you can't twist it any higher and there isn't enough sticking out to apply. Just like a 'regular' deodorant stick. Eventually you just get to the bottom. I run mine under the faucet. I crack the faucet to get a small stream, wet the rock, then apply. Re-wet and apply to the other side.
thank you Matt. Will probably still rotate just to use up the other deodorants I bought now. We will see, the trial period is still going.
